This hardy evergreen perennial is an excellent plant for a spring garden. Throughout April and May, the Brunnera will bloom into small clusters of delicate blue flowers that sit over a thick clump of foliage. The heart-shaped leaves are a pale green and white with pronounced dark green veins and perfectly complement the flowers. The Brunnera plant is used most effectively as ground cover at the front of a border or bed, but it can be just as effective in containers. However, if you decide to use this plant, you can be guaranteed a colourful display that will attract many pollinators to your garden.

Where to plant a Brunnera
You should plant your Brunnera in well-draining soil that receives sun throughout the day. This plant will grow well in dappled shade, but anything less will result in slower growth and duller flowers.

How to look after Brunnera plants
This low-growing perennial likes to be in relatively dry soil, so water lightly once the top layer becomes dry and try to keep the soil damp but not wet. This low-maintenance plant will grow well if given enough light and adequately watered. If growing in containers, you may need to water more often – especially in hot weather.

This BRUNNERA Variegata comes in a 9cm Pot
