Ficus Chloe is a compact variety of Ficus elastica, also known as the Rubber Plant. It is popular for its attractive, large, glossy leaves that have a burgundy hue. To keep your Ficus Chloe healthy and thriving, follow this care guide:

Light: Ficus Chloe prefers bright, indirect light. Place it near a south-, east-, or west-facing window with filtered light, or use sheer curtains to prevent direct sunlight, which can cause leaf scorching. This plant can adapt to lower light conditions, but growth may be slower.

Watering: Water your Ficus Chloe when the top 1-2 inches of soil feels dry to the touch. Thoroughly water the plant, allowing excess water to drain out of the bottom of the pot. Ensure the soil drains well, as Ficus plants are sensitive to overwatering and root rot.

Humidity: Ficus Chloe appreciates moderate to high humidity levels, around 40-60%. You can increase humidity by placing a humidifier nearby, grouping it with other humidity-loving plants, or placing the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water.

Temperature: Ficus Chloe thrives in temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C). Avoid placing the plant near cold drafts, air conditioners, or heating vents, as sudden temperature changes can cause leaf drop.

Fertilization: Feed your Ficus Chloe with a balanced, liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) at half the recommended strength. Reduce or stop fertilizing during the fall and winter months.

Pruning: Regularly prune your Ficus Chloe to maintain its compact shape and promote bushier growth. Trim back long branches and remove any dead, yellowing, or damaged leaves.

Repotting: Repot your Ficus Chloe every 2-3 years or when it becomes root-bound. Choose a new pot that is 1-2 inches larger in diameter than the current pot, and use a well-draining potting mix.

Pest control: Keep an eye out for common pests like spider mites, mealybugs, and scale insects. Treat any infestations with insecticidal soap or neem oil, and quarantine the affected plant from other plants until the issue is resolved.
