1. Light: Philodendron 'Sunlight' prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant leaf colour. Avoid exposing the plant to direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and fade the colour. If your plant's leaves begin to look dull or the plant becomes leggy, it may be receiving too little light.
2. Water: Water your Philodendron 'Sunlight' when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Overwatering can lead to root rot, a common issue with Philodendrons. When you water, do so thoroughly, allowing water to drain out of the bottom of the pot. Avoid letting the plant sit in standing water.
3. Humidity: Philodendrons generally appreciate higher humidity levels due to their tropical origin. However, they are fairly adaptable and can tolerate average home humidity levels. If you notice brown, crispy leaf edges, it may be an indication that your plant needs more humidity. Increase humidity levels by misting the plant, using a pebble tray filled with water, or employing a humidifier.
