Variegated Monstera Peru Karstenianum Pothos 17cm Pot House Plant
Monstera Peru, also known as Monstera Karstenianum or Monstera sp. Peru, is a small climbing plant native to South America. It is a popular houseplant due to its unique, perforated leaves and relatively compact size. Here are some care tips for Monstera Peru:
-
Light: Monstera Peru prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight as it can burn the leaves.
-
Water: Water your Monstera Peru when the top inch of soil feels dry. It is important not to overwater, as this can lead to root rot. Allow excess water to drain out of the bottom of the pot and empty the saucer after watering.
-
Humidity: Monstera Peru prefers high humidity, so misting the leaves or placing a humidifier nearby can be helpful.
-
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix that retains moisture but does not become waterlogged. Adding perlite or sand can help improve drainage.
-
Temperature: Monstera Peru prefers temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C) and does not tolerate cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
-
Fertilizer: Feed your Monstera Peru every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
-
Repotting: Repot your Monstera Peru every 1-2 years in a slightly larger pot to allow room for growth.
