Product Overview

About Golden Privet Hedging

dependent on time of year they may not have new growth or foliage due to dormancy.

A popular alternative to the traditional green variety, Golden Privet has a lot to offer with bright, green foliage, margined and splashed with yellow; creamy-white, summer flowers and glossy, black autumn berries. Evergreen/semievergreen, meaning that it is generally evergreen but may lose some or all of its leaves in very hard winters or if planted in strongly exposed or coastal sites. Easy to maintain and can be grown almost anywhere, making it a firm favourite of the British gardener and a deserving holder of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit. A useful addition to a wildlife garden, as it provides excellent coverfor small birds and hedge hogs. Responds particularly well to pruning and makes an ideal property boundary providing shelter from winds and reducing noise pollution. Privet is resistant to pollution and therefore popular in urban and suburban gardens. Will grow well in all but very wet soils, preferring a position in full sun or partial shade.

Right Packaging

As an online plant store, we recognise the need to protect the environment and have thought very carefully about the packaging we use and where we buy it from to make sure your plants turn up in good condition with the least impact on the environment.

When it comes to packaging, our philosophy takes the following into account:

Sustainability - all of the packaging we used can be fully reused, recycled or composted. And, in the unfortunate event that it does make its way to landfill, it will biodegrade, leaving nothing but humus behind.

The right packaging for the job - we want our plants to arrive in perfect condition so we have designed packaging that holds your plants safely and securely inside the box, meaning they turn up in great condition.

What's our packaging made from?

Our outer packaging is made from corrugated cardboard. This cardboard can withstand the weight of your plants and is not susceptible to moisture so will remain strong and stable until your plants are delivered and you’re ready to unpack them. Not only that, it will keep your plants safe and undamaged in transit.

As well as being perfect for keeping your plants safe, corrugated cardboard is easy to recycle and is in keeping with our commitment to ensure we use the more environmentally friendly packaging as possible.

Packaging sustainability

We have chosen to partner with a packaging supplier that has the same environmental values as us. All packaging uses 85% recycled material and is 100% recyclable and compostable. This commitment to the environment is backed up by a Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) accreditation and ISO 14001 accreditation for their environmental management system.
