Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Anthurium papillilaminum x luxurians is a rare and highly desirable hybrid that combines the velvety elegance of Anthurium papillilaminum with the rugged texture and corrugated depth of Anthurium luxurians. The result is a spectacular plant that perfectly balances refinement and power — a favourite among serious aroid collectors.
The foliage is thick, leathery, and deeply veined, with a strikingly three-dimensional surface that reflects both parents’ influence. New leaves emerge bronze or coppery before maturing to a deep, glossy green with an almost metallic sheen. The veins are sharply defined, giving the plant a sculptural, embossed appearance. Under bright, indirect light, the velvet undertones of papillilaminum blend beautifully with the glossy, bullate texture of luxurians, creating a hybrid of extraordinary depth and presence.
With its commanding form, lush texture, and rare genetics, Anthurium papillilaminum x luxurians stands among the most impressive modern Anthurium hybrids — a living piece of tropical art.
Thrives in bright, indirect light or gentle dappled shade. Too much direct sunlight can burn or fade the leaves, while low light may reduce texture and slow growth. A bright, filtered environment best replicates its natural rainforest conditions.
Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Water when the top 2–3 cm of the substrate feels dry. Anthuriums prefer moisture with airflow — use a well-draining mix and avoid stagnant water. During winter or cooler months, reduce watering slightly.
Temperature: Prefers warmth between 20–28°C; avoid exposure below 16°C.
Humidity: Requires high humidity (70–90%) to maintain lush, textured foliage. Use a humidifier, mist regularly, or grow in a greenhouse cabinet for optimal results.
Use a coarse, airy aroid mix — equal parts orchid bark, perlite, sphagnum moss, and coco coir. This ensures oxygen flow to the roots while retaining moisture. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the substrate and accommodate growth. The root system appreciates space to expand horizontally.
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced fertiliser or an aroid-specific formula rich in calcium and magnesium to support leaf development. Avoid over-fertilising, as the roots are sensitive. Pause feeding during the cooler months.
Remove older or yellowing leaves at the base to maintain the plant’s clean shape and encourage new growth. Wipe the leaves occasionally with a soft, dry cloth or brush to remove dust without damaging the textured surface. Avoid using any polishing products on the leaves.
A moderate grower, typically reaching 60–90 cm in height and spread indoors. As it matures, the leaves grow larger and more deeply veined, displaying a rich interplay of velvet and gloss. Under ideal conditions, mature plants may also produce spathes and spadices characteristic of the genus.
Yellow leaves: Overwatering or cold exposure.
Brown edges: Low humidity or irregular watering.
Faded leaves: Insufficient light or excess fertiliser.
Pests: Occasionally thrips or spider mites; maintain high humidity and treat promptly with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
Anthurium papillilaminum x luxurians is a hybrid developed by crossing two of the most admired velvet and corrugated Anthurium species. From papillilaminum, it inherits the velvety finish and rich, dark tone, while luxurians contributes its sculpted, almost reptilian leaf texture and vigorous growth habit.
Native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, both parent species are known for thriving in warm, humid, and shaded environments. This hybrid unites their best qualities, creating a plant that’s both visually striking and relatively hardy compared to its purebred counterparts. Like other Anthuriums, it helps purify indoor air and introduces a calm, natural rhythm to interior spaces.
Light: Bright, indirect or dappled shade
Water: Keep soil evenly moist; allow top 2–3 cm to dry between waterings
Temperature: 20–28°C; avoid below 16°C
Humidity: High (70–90%)
Soil: Airy, free-draining aroid mix – bark, perlite, moss, coir
Feed: Every 4–6 weeks in spring/summer
Growth: Upright growth, 60–90 cm; dark, velvety, bullate leaves with defined veining
⚠️ Toxicity note: Contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
Display Anthurium papillilaminum x luxurians as a feature plant in a bright, humid environment, such as a conservatory or tropical display area. Its richly textured leaves pair beautifully with smoother foliage plants such as Philodendron ‘Florida Green’ or Alocasia ‘Platinum’, creating a refined contrast of surfaces. Position it in a pot or planter that complements its dark, luxurious tones — matte black, stone grey, or brass finishes work particularly well.
