Sometimes known as 'Larkspur', these tall flowering perennials are known for their large spurs of flowers. Flowering from late spring to late summer (July to August) are pollinated by butterflies and bumble bees and will attract many pollinators into the garden. This early flowering perennial is perfect at the back of a border and brings the traditional look of a cottage garden to your space. The tall stems are covered with dark blue flowers that boast wonderfully ruffled petals making this plant the perfect way to add height and texture to your garden.

How to grow Delphinium
The Delphinium is an easy-to-look-after plant that will grow well in any soil if it is well-draining. Plant in a sunny position protected from strong winds and fertilise at the beginning of spring to get the best results. Make sure you support the stems with a stake when they are young; you may find that you have more luck with several stakes interlaced with twine as the plant ages.
Are Delphinium toxic?
Yes, Delphinium is toxic to mammals if ingested, but with proper handling and care, this can be easily mitigated. Make sure they are kept out of easy reach of cats and dogs, and always wash your hands thoroughly after handling them with bare skin. Some species are more toxic than others, and for these more toxic plants, we recommend wearing gloves when handling them.
How tall can Delphinium grow?
This will depend on the species, but most Delphinium will grow between 12 and 2M high.

When should I plant my Delphinium?
You should plant your Delphinium just as the soil is thawing from the winter. For the best results and the longest growing period, we recommend you plant your Delphinium between March and April.

How big will my Delphinium grow?
If given the best care and planted in the right location, your Delphinium can grow to about 1 M in height and 60cm across.
This DELPHINIUM Black Knight comes in a 9cm Pot
