The Surfinia is a simple and easy way to add colour and traditional style to your garden. Easy to introduce to any garden or soil, this variety of petunia produce flowers from June to October and is an ideal trailing plant for window boxes, hanging baskets or trellis. The funnel-shaped flowers of this Surfinia boast a striking light-pink background lines with darker shaded veins that run throughout. These impressive flowers sit on a backdrop of delicate herby green foliage. The trails of colour produced by this plant would look great at the front of your garden bed or border or as an impressive feature in a container or hanging basket.

Place your Surfinia in well-draining soil in a sunny location. If placed in too much shade they tend to become spindly and may not flower. Plant after the last spring frost and make sure the location is protected from strong winds.

Surfing's are a heat-tolerant plant that only needs to be watered thoroughly once a week (increase this in periods of prolonged dry weather). Avoid shallow watering as it encourages shallow root growth which leads to less healthy and vibrant plants. If planting in a container, water more frequently, but don't allow to get waterlogged.

Feed a water-soluble feed once a month to allow for rapid growth and heavy blooming.

Remove spent blooms and seeds when they die to encourage new growth and prevent self-seeding. Deadhead towards the end of the growing season by removing the base of the flower. It is important to remove seeds as your plant will stop producing flowers once they are produced.

The Surfinia is a trailing species of petunia that is grown from cuttings. They are one of the most popular varieties of petunia because they allow the classic look and feel of the petunia to be displayed as a trailing plant, giving height and vertical interest into your space. The Surfinia is also rain-resistant and survive in more waterlogged conditions than other petunias, however, it should still be placed in well-draining soil for the best results.
