Description: Monstera adansonii aurea, sometimes known as the Golden Swiss Cheese Plant, features the characteristic heart-shaped leaves of its species but stands out with its variegated yellow patterns. These patterns can vary significantly from leaf to leaf, with some leaves showing a high degree of yellow and others only having small patches. The leaves are perforated with oval holes, which become more numerous and pronounced as the plant matures.

Light: This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, especially the variegated parts, which are more sensitive to light. However, too little light can reduce the vibrancy of the leaf variegation and lead to fewer holes in the leaves.

Watering: Water when the top inch of soil becomes dry. Ensure the plant is in well-draining soil to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot. During winter, reduce watering but never let the soil completely dry out.

Temperature and Humidity: Monstera adansonii aurea prefers warm conditions and high humidity. Maintain temperatures between 18°C to 27°C. Humidity levels around 60% or higher are ideal. Consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a humidity tray to increase moisture in the air.
