15 25cm Sedum Little Missy Succulent in Hanging 10cm Pot
edum 'Little Missy' is characterised by its small, variegated leaves that are pale green with creamy-white edges and sometimes a touch of pink, particularly when exposed to more sunlight. The leaves are tightly packed on trailing stems, which makes it ideal for hanging baskets or as a trailing companion in mixed containers. During summer months, it produces small, star-shaped pink flowers that add an extra layer of appeal.
Care Guide
Light
Sedum 'Little Missy' prefers bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate some direct sunlight, too much can scorch its delicate leaves. A spot near a window with filtered light or a little direct morning sun would be ideal.
Water
As with most succulents, 'Little Missy' is drought tolerant and should be watered sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, then water thoroughly. In winter, reduce watering further as the plant goes into dormancy.
Soil
A well-draining cactus or succulent mix is perfect for 'Little Missy', ensuring that the roots don’t sit in moisture, which could lead to rot. Mixing in extra perlite or sand can enhance drainage further.
Temperature and Humidity
This plant enjoys typical indoor temperatures ranging from 15 to 24 degrees Celsius. It’s not frost-hardy, so it should be kept away from drafty windows during the colder months. Room humidity is generally sufficient as it doesn’t require high humidity to thrive.
Fertiliser
Feed Sedum 'Little Missy' with a diluted balanced fertiliser designed for cacti and succulents during the growing season (spring and summer). Fertilising should be limited to once a month or even less; over-fertilisation can harm its growth.
General Maintenance
Trim back any dead or overgrown stems to keep the plant looking tidy and to encourage more compact growth. This can also help prevent any potential pest issues by improving air circulation within the foliage.
Sedum 'Little Missy' is largely pest-resistant but watch out for common pests like aphids and mealybugs, especially in overwatered plants. An occasional wipe-down with a damp cloth can help keep the leaves dust-free and allow the plant to breathe better, enhancing photosynthesis.
With its undemanding nature and attractive appearance, Sedum 'Little Missy' is an excellent choice for both novice and experienced gardeners looking to add a bit of green to their indoor spaces.
