Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. Philodendron hederaceum ‘Brasil’ (also known as Philodendron scandens ‘Brasil’) is a vibrant and easy-to-grow tropical vine from the Araceae family, native to Central and South America. It’s a variegated form of the classic Heartleaf Philodendron, celebrated for its lime-green and golden-yellow streaked foliage that adds instant colour and warmth to any space.
Each heart-shaped leaf features a unique pattern — some with bold, golden splashes down the centre, others with soft marbling and contrasting green borders. The variegation resembles painterly brushstrokes, giving the plant a lively, tropical look. Its trailing or climbing habit makes it perfect for hanging baskets, shelves, or trained up moss poles and trellises.
Tough, adaptable, and fast-growing, Philodendron ‘Brasil’ thrives in a wide range of indoor conditions, making it an excellent choice for beginners and experienced collectors alike.
Thrives in bright, indirect light, which enhances its golden variegation. It tolerates moderate light but may lose colour in very low light. Avoid strong, direct sunlight that can scorch the delicate variegation.
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but not soggy. Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows. It’s better to underwater than overwater this species.
Temperature: Prefers 18–28°C. Protect from draughts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Humidity: Tolerates average indoor humidity but will thrive in slightly higher levels (50–70%). Mist occasionally or place near other plants for optimal growth.
Use a free-draining, chunky aroid mix – peat-free compost combined with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir is ideal. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the soil and encourage healthy root growth.
Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser to support vibrant foliage and steady growth. Pause feeding in winter.
Trim vines regularly to encourage bushier growth and remove any yellowing or faded leaves. Easy to propagate — stem cuttings root readily in water or soil.
A fast-growing trailing or climbing vine, reaching 1–2 metres indoors. Leaves typically range from 5–10 cm long but may grow larger on climbing plants.
Loss of variegation: Insufficient light.
Yellow leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.
Leggy growth: Lack of light or pruning.
Pests: Occasionally spider mites or mealybugs.
The Philodendron ‘Brasil’ is named for its leaf pattern, which resembles the green and yellow of the Brazilian flag. It’s one of the most cheerful and forgiving houseplants, bringing tropical vibrancy to interiors while requiring minimal attention. Like all Philodendrons, it also helps purify the air, making it both decorative and functional.
