Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. Alocasia ‘Jacklyn Ghost’ is a rare and highly collectable cultivar of the popular Alocasia Jacklyn (Alocasia tandurusa). Originating from Indonesia, this plant is admired for its unusual leaf shape and striking variegation.
The Ghost form displays the same deeply lobed, antler-like foliage that Jacklyn is famous for, but with an added twist – dramatic splashes, marbling, or sectors of creamy-white to pale mint variegation across the leaves. These ghostly markings contrast beautifully against the dark, textured green background and bold venation, creating a one-of-a-kind living artwork.
As the plant matures, its upright, arrow-like leaves can grow 40–70 cm long, each one uniquely patterned. This combination of exotic shape and rare variegation makes Alocasia ‘Jacklyn Ghost’ one of the most desirable Alocasia cultivars for serious collectors.
Requires bright, indirect light to maintain its variegation. Too little light may cause creamy markings to fade, while harsh direct sun can scorch pale leaf sections.
Keep soil lightly and evenly moist during the growing season. Water when the top 2–3 cm feels dry, but ensure excellent drainage to avoid root rot. In winter or dormancy, reduce watering.
Temperature: Thrives in 18–28°C. Protect from draughts and never allow temperatures below 15°C.
Humidity: High humidity (60–80%) is essential. Mist regularly, place near a humidifier, or grow in a greenhouse-style cabinet.
Use a chunky, free-draining aroid mix: peat-free compost blended with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the mix and allow root and corm growth.
Feed every 2–3 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertiliser. Stop feeding in autumn and winter.
Remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base. Wipe foliage carefully with a damp cloth to keep the intricate lobes dust-free.
A moderate grower, reaching 60–100 cm indoors with maturity. Like many Alocasias, it may enter dormancy in cooler months, during which leaves may die back to the corm before re-emerging in spring.
Loss of variegation: Insufficient light.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poorly draining soil.
Brown edges: Low humidity or sunburn on pale areas.
Pests: Can be prone to spider mites, thrips, or mealybugs.
Discovered originally in Sulawesi, Indonesia, Alocasia Jacklyn quickly became a collector’s favourite due to its unusual antler-like leaves. The ‘Ghost’ form adds an extra layer of rarity with unpredictable variegation, making it an extraordinary centrepiece for aroids enthusiasts.
