Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. Dracaena fragrans 'Lemon Lime', commonly known as the Lemon Lime Dragon Tree, is a vibrant and easy-care houseplant admired for its striking variegated foliage. Native to tropical Africa, this colourful cultivar features long, arching leaves with bold lime-green, yellow and deep green stripes, making it one of the brightest and most eye-catching members of the Dracaena family.
Its colourful foliage instantly adds warmth and freshness to any room, while its upright growth habit makes it perfect for living rooms, offices, bedrooms and conservatories. Growing from sturdy woody canes, Dracaena 'Lemon Lime' develops into an elegant indoor tree that provides year-round colour without requiring demanding care.
Highly adaptable and tolerant of a range of indoor conditions, Dracaena 'Lemon Lime' is an excellent choice for beginners as well as experienced plant lovers. Indoors, it typically reaches 1.2–2.5 metres in height, depending on the size of the pot and growing conditions.
Dracaena 'Lemon Lime' thrives in bright, indirect light, which helps maintain its vibrant yellow and lime-green variegation.
It will tolerate moderate light levels, although lower light may reduce the brightness of the foliage and slow growth. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Allow the top 3–5cm of compost to dry out before watering thoroughly.
Water until excess moisture drains from the base of the pot, then empty any decorative pot or saucer. Dracaena prefers slightly dry conditions between waterings and is much more tolerant of underwatering than overwatering.
Reduce watering during autumn and winter when growth naturally slows.
Average household humidity is ideal for Dracaena 'Lemon Lime'.
Although it enjoys slightly higher humidity, it performs well in most indoor environments without needing regular misting.
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 27°C.
Avoid temperatures below 12°C, and protect the plant from cold draughts, air conditioning and sudden temperature changes.
Use a free-draining, nutrient-rich houseplant compost.
Mixing compost with perlite or horticultural grit will improve drainage and help prevent root rot.
Always grow in a pot with drainage holes.
Feed every 4 weeks during spring and summer using a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser.
Reduce feeding during autumn and stop during winter while the plant is growing more slowly.
Repot every 2–3 years, or when the roots become pot-bound.
Choose a pot only one size larger than the existing container and repot during spring.
Dracaena 'Lemon Lime' has a slow to moderate growth rate.
Expected indoor size:
Height: 1.2–2.5m
Spread: 60–100cm
Its upright habit makes it ideal for adding height without taking up excessive floor space.
Minimal pruning is required.
Remove any yellow or damaged leaves as they appear. If the plant becomes too tall, the cane can be cut back during spring to encourage fresh shoots below the cut.
Dracaena fragrans 'Lemon Lime' is toxic if ingested and should be kept away from pets and young children.
It is particularly toxic to cats and dogs.
Brown leaf tips are commonly caused by:
Fluoride or chlorine in tap water
Low humidity
Underwatering
Salt build-up from fertiliser
Using filtered or rainwater where possible can help reduce tip browning.
Yellow leaves are usually caused by overwatering or poor drainage.
Allow the compost to dry slightly between waterings and ensure excess water drains away freely.
Older lower leaves naturally yellow and fall as the plant matures.
Soft or mushy stems usually indicate root rot caused by excessive watering.
Reduce watering immediately and inspect the roots if necessary.
If the bright yellow and lime-green stripes begin fading, the plant may not be receiving enough light.
Move it to a brighter position with plenty of indirect sunlight.
Occasionally affected by:
Spider mites
Mealybugs
Scale insects
Inspect the foliage regularly and treat infestations promptly using a suitable houseplant insecticide or insecticidal soap.
Yes. It is one of the easiest and most colourful indoor plants to grow, making it an excellent choice for beginners.
Water when the top few centimetres of compost have dried out. Avoid keeping the compost constantly wet.
It tolerates moderate light, but bright, indirect light is best for maintaining its vibrant variegation.
Brown tips are often caused by minerals in tap water, dry air or inconsistent watering. Filtered water and regular watering can help prevent this.
With good care, it typically grows between 1.2 and 2.5 metres, making it an excellent upright feature plant for homes and offices.
With its vibrant lime-green and yellow striped foliage, elegant upright form and exceptionally easy-going nature, Dracaena fragrans 'Lemon Lime' is the perfect plant for adding year-round colour and tropical style to your home. Low maintenance, adaptable and beautifully architectural, it makes an eye-catching addition to any bright indoor space.
