Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Dracaena surculosa ‘Florida Beauty’, also known as the Gold Dust Dracaena or Spotted Dracaena, is a striking and easy-care tropical plant celebrated for its glossy, spotted foliage. A member of the Asparagaceae family and native to the tropical forests of West Africa, this species brings a vibrant, playful energy to interiors with its bold variegation and elegant form.
Its oval, glossy green leaves are beautifully speckled and splashed with creamy yellow and gold spots, creating a look reminiscent of sunlight filtering through a rainforest canopy. The bamboo-like canes grow upright before arching gently, giving the plant a light, airy presence. Compact, hardy, and naturally bushy, Dracaena ‘Florida Beauty’ is perfect for brightening desks, shelves, or low-light corners while requiring minimal maintenance.
Tropical yet refined, this species blends sculptural structure with cheerful foliage — a versatile houseplant that adds colour and freshness to any home or workspace.
Thrives in bright, indirect light but adapts well to moderate or even slightly lower light conditions. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while too little light may reduce the intensity of its variegation. A north- or east-facing window is ideal.
Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but avoid overwatering, as Dracaenas are sensitive to soggy conditions. During winter, reduce watering frequency. Always use a pot with drainage holes, and discard any excess water from saucers after watering.
Temperature: Prefers warmth between 18–28 °C. Avoid cold drafts, air-conditioning vents, or temperatures below 15 °C.
Humidity: Average indoor humidity is sufficient, though Dracaena ‘Florida Beauty’ appreciates occasional misting to maintain leaf gloss and prevent brown tips.
Use a well-draining, loamy mix — a blend of compost, perlite, and a little sand or bark is perfect. Repot every 2–3 years in spring to refresh the soil and encourage continued growth. Dracaenas prefer to be slightly root-bound, so only increase pot size gradually.
Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertiliser. Avoid over-fertilising, as the leaf tips can brown. Stop feeding in autumn and winter when growth naturally slows.
Prune leggy stems to maintain a compact, bushy form. Wipe the leaves regularly with a damp cloth to remove dust and showcase their glossy, speckled appearance. Rotate the plant occasionally for even light exposure and balanced growth.
A slow to moderate grower, Dracaena surculosa ‘Florida Beauty’ typically reaches 60–90 cm in height and spread indoors. Over time, it forms graceful, cane-like stems topped with clusters of spotted leaves, creating a lush, upright display. In optimal conditions, it may also produce delicate, fragrant white flowers.
Brown tips: Over-fertilising, low humidity, or fluoride in tap water.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.
Loss of variegation: Insufficient light.
Pests: Occasionally affected by spider mites or scale — treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
Native to tropical Africa, Dracaena surculosa naturally grows as an understory plant in humid forests, thriving in filtered light and well-drained soil. The cultivar ‘Florida Beauty’ is particularly prized for its bright golden speckles, which appear as if each leaf has been artistically hand-painted.
Beyond its decorative appeal, Dracaena ‘Florida Beauty’ is also an excellent air purifier, removing toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene from indoor environments. It’s a symbol of resilience and good fortune, making it a thoughtful gift plant as well as a long-lived companion for the home.
