Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. Sansevieria ‘Futura Superba’ is a striking and sculptural houseplant featuring broad, upright leaves with dark green centres, horizontal silver-green banding, and bold golden-yellow edges. More compact than the standard Sansevieria trifasciata, this variety forms a dense rosette of chunky, sword-like leaves that bring both structure and colour to any indoor setting.
Tough, adaptable, and incredibly easy to care for, ‘Futura Superba’ is a top choice for beginners, frequent travellers, and anyone seeking an architectural plant that cleans the air and thrives on neglect. Whether placed on a windowsill, desk, or plant shelf, it delivers strong visual impact with minimal effort.
🌿 Botanical name: Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Futura Superba’ (also reclassified as Dracaena trifasciata ‘Futura Superba’)
🪴 Common name: Futura Superba Snake Plant
🌤 Light: Low to bright, indirect light
💧 Watering: Drought-tolerant; water only when soil is completely dry
🌡 Temperature: 16–30°C; protect from cold and frost
🧴 Humidity: Average indoor humidity is fine
🐾 Toxicity: ❌ Toxic to pets and humans if ingested
Thrives in bright, indirect light but will tolerate low light conditions. For best colour and growth, place it near a bright window (but avoid intense direct sun, which may scorch the yellow edges).
Its light flexibility makes it perfect for offices, hallways, and dimmer rooms where other plants may struggle.
Allow the soil to completely dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then empty excess water from saucers. In the growing season (spring/summer), water every 2–4 weeks depending on conditions. In winter, reduce frequency to once a month or less.
🚫 Overwatering is the most common cause of problems. Err on the side of too dry rather than too wet.
Sansevieria ‘Futura Superba’ is unfussy about humidity. It tolerates dry air well and doesn’t require misting or special humidity setups – ideal for centrally heated homes.
Prefers warm temperatures between 16–30°C. Avoid placing it in cold draughts or near frosty windows. It’s not frost-hardy and should be kept above 10°C at all times.
Use a free-draining cactus or succulent potting mix. You can also mix standard houseplant compost with sand or perlite to improve drainage. Always plant in a pot with drainage holes.
Feed sparingly – every 6–8 weeks in spring and summer using a diluted liquid cactus fertiliser. No feeding is needed in autumn or winter.
Division is the easiest method – separate the root clump and repot
Leaf cuttings are possible but may lose the variegated edging in new growth
Soft or mushy leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage
Pale or faded colours: Low light or old age
Wrinkled leaves: Underwatering or long drought periods
Brown tips: Environmental stress, low humidity, or physical damage
Great for bedside tables, desks, or window ledges
Adds a bright accent with its gold margins in modern, neutral pots
Works well in plant groupings or as a low-maintenance feature piece
