Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. Ficus elastica ‘Shivereana Moonshine’ is an exceptionally rare and elegant Rubber Plant variety admired for its soft lime-green foliage, marbled variegation, and ethereal glow. A member of the Moraceae family and native to tropical Southeast Asia, this cultivar is a luminous, modern evolution of the classic Ficus elastica.
The leaves are thick, oval, and glossy, displaying a creamy chartreuse base splashed with speckles of darker green and coral-pink veins. Under bright light, the foliage appears almost translucent, emitting a subtle “moonlit” sheen that gives the plant its poetic name. Each leaf is unique, with painterly mottling that evokes a celestial landscape. The upright growth habit and softly coloured leaves make Ficus ‘Shivereana Moonshine’ both soothing and striking — a perfect statement piece for bright, refined interiors.
Subtle yet otherworldly, this variety captures the essence of contemporary tropical design: bold form, delicate colouring, and effortless luxury.
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Strong filtered light will enhance the leaf variegation and maintain its signature moonlit tones. Avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the pale areas, and low-light conditions, which may cause dull or faded colouring.
Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged. Overwatering can lead to root rot, while underwatering may cause leaf edges to crisp. During winter, reduce watering frequency, allowing the soil to dry more between waterings.
Temperature: Prefers warmth between 20–28 °C; avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 15 °C.
Humidity: Adapts well to average indoor humidity (40–60%) but thrives in slightly higher humidity. Occasional misting or a nearby humidifier will maintain optimal leaf condition.
Use a well-draining, nutrient-rich mix, such as compost blended with perlite and pine bark. This provides moisture retention while allowing proper airflow. Repot every 2–3 years in spring to refresh the soil and support continued growth. Choose a pot with good drainage to prevent waterlogging.
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced fertiliser or one formulated for foliage plants. This helps maintain the vivid variegation and supports steady growth. Suspend feeding in winter when growth slows naturally.
Prune occasionally to shape and encourage branching. Remove any yellow or damaged leaves near the base. Wipe the leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust and highlight their soft, marbled texture. Rotate the plant every few weeks to promote even growth and symmetrical form.
A moderate grower, Ficus elastica ‘Shivereana Moonshine’ typically reaches 1.5–2 metres indoors, forming a strong central trunk and compact, upright foliage. Over time, it develops a dense crown of luminous, patterned leaves. With the right light and care, new leaves unfurl in a delicate mint or coral hue before maturing into their trademark moonshine tones.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.
Brown tips: Low humidity or inconsistent watering.
Faded variegation: Insufficient light.
Pests: Occasionally scale or mealybugs; treat promptly with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
Ficus elastica, commonly known as the Rubber Plant, is native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it grows as a canopy tree reaching up to 30 metres in height. The ‘Shivereana Moonshine’ cultivar was developed for its unique marbled variegation and pastel green hues, offering a more delicate aesthetic than darker forms like Ficus ‘Abidjan’ or Ficus ‘Robusta’.
In addition to its decorative value, Ficus ‘Shivereana Moonshine’ is also an excellent air-purifying plant, filtering toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene while enriching indoor air quality. Its gentle colouring makes it ideal for bright, minimal, or Scandinavian-style interiors where natural light and calm tones are key design elements.

It pairs beautifully with darker foliage plants like Philodendron ‘Rojo Congo’ or silver-toned species such as Scindapsus pictus ‘Silver Hero’. For an elevated look, place it near a window where light filters gently through its variegated leaves — creating an ethereal, glowing effect that perfectly captures its moonlit charm.
