Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.

Alocasia nobilis is a rare and striking tropical plant from the Araceae family, native to the rainforests of Borneo. This stunning species is prized for its bold, sculptural foliage and upright growth habit, making it a true statement plant for collectors and enthusiasts of rare Alocasias.
The plant produces large, arrow-shaped leaves with dramatic veining and a velvety texture. The deep green leaf surface is accentuated by thick, pale veins and slightly rippled margins, giving each leaf a distinctive three-dimensional quality. The undersides contrast beautifully in shades of rich purple to bronze, while the stems display speckled or marbled markings, adding further visual interest.
Alocasia nobilis perfectly embodies tropical elegance — with its broad, architectural leaves and regal presence, it’s a showpiece plant ideal for interiors that crave lush, exotic foliage.
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch its leaves, while too little light may slow growth and dull its colour. East-facing windows or filtered light are ideal.
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 2–3 cm feels dry. Allow good drainage and avoid letting the roots sit in standing water. In winter, reduce watering frequency but never let the soil dry out completely.
Temperature: Prefers warmth, 20–28°C. Avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 16°C.
Humidity: Requires high humidity (60–80%) to maintain healthy growth and prevent crisping. Mist regularly, use a pebble tray, or run a humidifier for best results.
Use a chunky, free-draining aroid mix – peat-free compost blended with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the mix and give roots space to expand.
Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. Avoid over-fertilising, as this may damage roots or cause leaf burn.
Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves at the base to maintain a tidy appearance. Wipe leaves regularly with a damp cloth to remove dust and highlight their natural sheen.
A moderately fast grower that can reach 60–100 cm tall indoors, depending on conditions. Each new leaf emerges from the centre, often larger and more defined than the last.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.
Brown tips: Low humidity or inconsistent watering.
Leaf droop or dormancy: Natural during cooler months — reduce watering and resume normal care once growth restarts.
Pests: Occasionally thrips, spider mites, or mealybugs.
Native to the island of Borneo, Alocasia nobilis thrives in the humid understory of tropical rainforests. The name “nobilis” means noble or majestic, a fitting description for its striking and refined foliage. It’s closely related to other collector favourites like Alocasia infernalis and Alocasia micholitziana, but distinguished by its combination of velvety leaves, pale veining, and rich purple undersides.
With its dramatic foliage and rare status, Alocasia nobilis is a must-have for any serious collector of tropical aroids or those looking to elevate their indoor plant collection.
