Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. Schefflera 'Nora' is a cultivar of the Schefflera genus, known for its attractive foliage and easy-care nature, making it a popular choice for indoor gardens. This variety, like others in its genus, features glossy, palmate leaves that extend outward from central stalks, creating an umbrella-like appearance—hence its common name, the Umbrella Tree. The 'Nora' cultivar is particularly noted for its compact growth habit and its ability to adapt to a variety of indoor environments, which makes it a versatile plant for decorating spaces.
Care Guide:
Light Requirements: Schefflera 'Nora' thrives in bright, indirect light but can also adapt to lower light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. If the plant is not getting enough light, its growth may become leggy, and leaves may lose their vibrancy.
Watering: Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. It's important to ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot. Schefflera 'Nora' does not like to sit in waterlogged soil. During the winter months, reduce watering frequency as the plant's growth slows down.
Humidity: This plant prefers average room humidity but can tolerate lower levels without much issue. If you notice the leaf tips becoming brown or crispy, it might indicate a need for higher humidity. You can increase humidity around the plant by misting it regularly, placing it on a pebble tray with water, or using a humidifier.
Temperature: Schefflera 'Nora' does well in typical indoor temperatures, ranging from 15°C to 24°C (60°F to 75°F). Avoid placing it in drafty areas or near sources of cold drafts in winter.
Feeding: Feed with a balanced, liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilization to once every 8-10 weeks during the fall and winter months.
Pruning: Pruning can be done to maintain the plant's shape and encourage fuller growth. You can prune back leggy branches or any leaves that are yellowing or damaged. This can also help control the plant's size within your space.
Repotting: Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant has outgrown its current pot. Spring is the best time to repot, using a pot that is slightly larger than the current one. Ensure the new pot has adequate drainage holes.
Pest and Disease Management: Schefflera 'Nora' is relatively resistant to pests and diseases. However, keep an eye out for common indoor plant pests such as spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs. Regularly inspecting the leaves and stems can help catch any issues early. Use insecticidal soap or neem oil to manage pests.
Schefflera 'Nora' is valued for its ease of care, making it suitable for gardeners of all levels. With its lush, green foliage and adaptable nature, it can add a touch of tropical elegance to any indoor setting. Regular care and attention will keep your Schefflera 'Nora' healthy and thriving for years to come.
