Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. We collaborate exclusively with leading courier services, renowned for their reliability and exceptional handling practices, to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition. Anthurium regale is one of the most breathtaking and sought-after aroids in the world, revered for its enormous, velvety leaves and striking, high-contrast veining. Native to the rainforests of Peru and part of the Araceae family, this species is celebrated for its majestic presence and unmistakable regal beauty — living up perfectly to its name.
The leaves are large, heart-shaped, and deeply textured with a luxurious, velvety surface. Their dark, almost charcoal-green background contrasts dramatically with bold, silvery-white veins that fan outward in elegant symmetry. Mature leaves can reach impressive sizes, often exceeding 60–90 cm under ideal conditions, creating a truly commanding, throne-like display.
Anthurium regale forms a strong, upright rosette with thick petioles that support the oversized foliage. Each new leaf unfurls with a rich bronze or deep olive tone before maturing into its iconic dark, velvety finish. A true “collector’s crown jewel,” this species combines sophistication, scale, and drama like few other houseplants can.
Thrives in bright, indirect light, which supports large leaf development and maintains the deep colouring and crisp veining. Medium light is tolerated but produces smaller, less defined leaves. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, especially on the velvety surface, which can scorch easily.
Keep the soil evenly and lightly moist. Allow the top 2–4 cm to dry before watering again. Avoid waterlogging, as Anthurium regale is sensitive to root rot. Reduce watering slightly during cooler months or periods of slower growth.
Temperature: Prefers warm conditions of 18–26 °C. Avoid temperatures below 15 °C or sudden drafts.
Humidity: High humidity (70–90%) is essential for maintaining leaf size, velvety texture, and vigorous growth. A humidifier, greenhouse cabinet, or pebble tray works well.
Use a chunky, airy aroid mix — ideal ingredients include orchid bark, perlite, charcoal, sphagnum, and coco coir. Excellent aeration is vital to prevent root suffocation. Repot every 12–18 months, only upsizing slightly each time.
Feed every 2–3 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced or calcium-enriched fertiliser. Large-leaf Anthuriums benefit from steady nutrition to support their impressive foliage.
Remove older or damaged leaves at the base to maintain a tidy rosette. Gently dust the velvety surface with a soft brush — avoid wiping with a wet cloth, which may damage the delicate texture. Ensure strong support if leaves become extremely large.
A moderate grower that becomes increasingly dramatic with age. Mature plants can produce exceptionally large leaves and thick petioles. Growth slows in cooler conditions or lower humidity.
Brown edges: Low humidity or inconsistent watering.
Yellowing: Overwatering or poor drainage.
Small leaves: Insufficient light or food.
Pests: Watch for thrips, spider mites, and aphids on the broad leaves.
Anthurium regale has gained legendary status among plant collectors due to its royal appearance, colossal leaf size, and unparalleled foliage texture. Its contrasting white veining and velvety finish make every leaf look like a piece of living art.
Perfect as a centrepiece plant, it elevates any space with its refined, dramatic aesthetic. Whether showcased in a plant room, living area, or dedicated greenhouse cabinet, Anthurium regale instantly becomes the main attraction.
This species is both a botanical statement and a long-term collector’s investment — the kind of plant people design entire displays around.
