Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Coryphantha elephantidens XXL, commonly known as the Elephant’s Tooth Cactus, is a spectacular, large-growing cactus prized for its massive, rounded form and distinctive chunky tubercles that resemble elephant teeth. A member of the Cactaceae family and native to central Mexico, this species is highly regarded by collectors for its bold presence, longevity, and impressive flowering display.
An XXL specimen represents a mature, characterful plant with a broad, heavy body and deeply defined tubercles arranged in neat spirals. The cactus is typically blue-green to grey-green in colour, often with a soft, powdery bloom that enhances its sculptural appearance. Short, stout spines sit at the tips of the tubercles, adding texture without overwhelming the plant’s rounded silhouette. When in flower, Coryphantha elephantidens produces large, showy blooms in shades of pink to magenta, often forming a crown around the apex — a breathtaking sight on a plant of this size.
Bold, architectural, and timeless, Coryphantha elephantidens XXL is a true statement cactus for serious collectors and lovers of classic, large-form desert plants.
Thrives in bright light to full sun. Plenty of light helps maintain compact growth and strong tubercle definition. Indoors, place in the brightest position available; outdoors, acclimatise gradually to full sun to avoid scorch.
Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, then water deeply and let excess drain away. During winter dormancy, keep almost completely dry, watering only once every 6–8 weeks if needed. Overwatering is the main risk for this species.
Temperature: Prefers warm conditions between 18–32 °C during the growing season. Can tolerate cooler temperatures down to around 8–10 °C if kept completely dry.
Humidity: Low humidity is ideal. Ensure good airflow to prevent rot or fungal problems.
Use a very free-draining cactus mix, ideally mineral-based — pumice, coarse sand, grit, and a small amount of cactus compost. XXL plants benefit from a heavy, stable pot to support their weight. Repot infrequently (every 3–4 years) as the plant dislikes disturbance.
Feed lightly once or twice during spring and summer with a low-nitrogen cactus fertiliser, well diluted. Avoid overfeeding, which can cause soft, unnatural growth. Do not feed in autumn or winter.
No pruning required. Remove spent flowers once dry and brush away dust gently with a soft brush. Handle carefully — the tubercles are firm but can bruise if knocked.
A slow-growing but long-lived cactus. XXL specimens can reach 20–30 cm or more in diameter and represent many years of careful cultivation. Mature plants flower reliably when given sufficient light and a proper winter rest.
Rot: Caused by excess moisture or poor drainage.
Stretching: Insufficient light.
Shrivelling: Prolonged drought during the growing season.
Pests: Occasionally mealybugs — treat promptly if detected.
Coryphantha elephantidens is one of the most iconic species in the Coryphantha genus, valued for its impressive size, distinctive tubercles, and spectacular flowers. In the wild, it grows in rocky, well-drained soils where rainfall is infrequent but intense — conditions that explain its preference for dry roots and bright light.
Symbolically, this cactus represents strength, endurance, and patience — qualities reflected in its slow growth and commanding presence. XXL specimens offer immediate impact and maturity, making them especially desirable for established collections.

Display Coryphantha elephantidens XXL in a wide, heavy ceramic or terracotta pot to balance its substantial size. A top dressing of coarse gravel or pumice enhances its bold, architectural form. Ideal for bright conservatories, sunny windows, greenhouses, or collector shelves, it pairs beautifully with other statement cacti such as Astrophytum myriostigma, Obregonia denegrii, or Ferocactus species for a
