Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Calathea ‘White Fusion’ is one of the most visually striking prayer plants available, prized for its marbled white, green and soft lavender foliage and elegant, upright growth habit. It is a highly variegated cultivar and, as a result, more delicate and demanding than standard Calatheas. When given the right environment, however, it becomes a true showpiece plant with constantly changing, living artwork-like leaves.
Calathea ‘White Fusion’ produces elongated, lance-shaped leaves with dramatic painterly variegation. The upper leaf surface features a swirling mix of creamy white, pale green and deeper green, while the undersides are flushed with soft lilac to purple tones. Each leaf is unique, and new growth often emerges with particularly intense colouring before maturing.
Leaves grow upright from a compact clump-forming base and display the classic prayer plant movement, gently lifting and folding in response to light changes throughout the day. Growth is moderate and controlled rather than fast, and the plant maintains a neat, architectural form when conditions are stable.
Due to its high level of variegation, ‘White Fusion’ contains less chlorophyll than greener varieties, making it more sensitive to stress, low light and inconsistent care.
Bright, indirect light is essential. Position the plant near an east-facing window or a bright location set back from a south- or west-facing window. Light should be strong but filtered.
Direct sunlight must be avoided, as the white areas of the leaves scorch very easily. In low light, the plant will struggle to maintain its variegation, growth will slow significantly, and leaves may become smaller and greener over time.
Calathea ‘White Fusion’ requires consistently moist compost, but it must never be waterlogged. Allow only the very top layer of the growing medium to dry slightly between waterings, then water thoroughly.
Water quality is extremely important. Use rainwater, distilled or filtered water wherever possible. Tap water often contains fluoride and salts that can cause brown leaf edges, spotting and general decline, especially on the white variegated areas.
Never allow the plant to dry out completely. Even short periods of drought can lead to leaf curl, crisping and permanent damage.
This plant thrives in warm, stable temperatures, ideally between 18–26°C. It is very sensitive to cold, draughts and sudden temperature changes. Temperatures below 15°C can cause stress, leaf drop and slowed growth.
High humidity is essential. Calathea ‘White Fusion’ performs best in consistently high humidity, ideally above 60–65%. Low humidity is the most common cause of browning edges, curling leaves and overall decline. A humidifier is strongly recommended, particularly during winter.
Avoid placing the plant near radiators, heaters or air-conditioning vents, all of which dry the air rapidly.
A moisture-retentive yet airy growing medium is crucial. The roots like constant access to moisture but also require oxygen. A mix of peat-free compost or coco coir with added perlite and a small amount of bark works well.
Ensure the pot has good drainage. Repot only when necessary, ideally in spring or early summer. Calathea ‘White Fusion’ dislikes root disturbance, and frequent repotting can cause setbacks.
Feed lightly during the growing season. From spring to early autumn, apply a diluted balanced houseplant fertiliser every four to six weeks. Overfeeding can easily damage the plant, particularly the pale variegated areas of the leaves.
Do not feed during winter, when growth slows and the plant becomes more sensitive to mineral build-up.
Remove damaged, yellowing or crisped leaves at the base using clean scissors. This helps redirect energy to healthy growth and keeps the plant looking tidy.
Gently wipe leaves with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust. Avoid leaf shine products, which can block leaf pores and cause damage.
Calathea ‘White Fusion’ is known for being reactive. Brown edges are usually caused by low humidity or poor water quality. Curling leaves often indicate dryness or temperature stress. Fading or reduced variegation points to insufficient light.
Spider mites can become an issue in dry conditions, so maintaining humidity and inspecting leaves regularly is important.
Propagation is done by division, usually during repotting. Each division should have a healthy root system and several leaves. This plant cannot be propagated from cuttings.
Calathea ‘White Fusion’ is a premium foliage plant best suited to growers who can provide high humidity, consistent moisture and stable conditions. It is not forgiving, but when its needs are met, it delivers exceptional visual impact and remains one of the most striking Calatheas available.
