Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Gymnocalycium mihanovichii ‘T-Rex Pink’ XL is a rare, show-stopping cactus cultivar prized for its vivid pink colouring, exaggerated rib structure, and sculptural, almost prehistoric appearance. A member of the Cactaceae family and native to the deserts of Paraguay and northern Argentina, this extraordinary mutation has been selectively bred for its dramatic form — earning it the iconic name “T-Rex.”
This XL specimen displays fully developed, oversized ribs that twist and bulge in a rugged, reptilian pattern reminiscent of fossilised bone plates. Its vibrant pink to coral-rose body creates an incredible contrast against the natural grey or cream spines, giving it a candy-bright yet ancient look. The surface is often mottled with soft gradients of pink, peach, and cream, making each plant completely unique. In summer, it may produce delicate pale pink or cream flowers — a stunning and unexpected contrast to its bold form.
Bold, exotic, and highly collectable, Gymnocalycium ‘T-Rex Pink’ XL is a centrepiece cactus for serious collectors who appreciate rare forms, bright colouration, and sculptural desert beauty.
Thrives in bright, indirect to filtered light. Strong light enhances the pink pigmentation, but avoid intense midday sun, which can scorch coloured cultivars. A bright windowsill, greenhouse bench, or grow-light setup is ideal.
Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, then water thoroughly and let excess drain away. In winter, reduce watering to once every 4–6 weeks. Overwatering is the main cause of rot in Gymnocalyciums.
Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures between 18–30 °C; avoid exposure below 10 °C, which may damage the skin of variegated/pink forms.
Humidity: Low humidity is best. Provide good airflow to prevent fungal issues.
Use a free-draining mineral cactus mix containing coarse sand, grit, pumice, and a small amount of cactus compost. Gymnos prefer a shallow root zone — repot every 2–3 years in spring into a wide, shallow pot that allows good drainage.
Feed lightly every 6–8 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertiliser. Avoid high-nitrogen feeds, which can cause weak or distorted growth. Do not feed in winter.
Minimal pruning required. Remove dried flowers or offsets as needed. Brush dust gently from the surface with a soft brush to maintain the vibrant colour.
A slow grower, especially in variegated or coloured forms. XL specimens typically measure 8–12+ cm across, with heavily textured ribs and exceptional colour saturation. Mature plants may produce pups and flower readily in warm weather.
Soft, sunken tissue: Overwatering or cold damage.
Faded colouring: Insufficient light.
Sunburn: Too much direct midday sun on coloured skin.
Pests: Occasionally affected by mealybugs or spider mites — treat promptly.
Gymnocalycium mihanovichii is beloved for its rounded form, smooth ribs, and colourful mutations. The ‘T-Rex Pink’ cultivar is a rare and highly prized variant selected for its dramatic rib deformation and intense pink pigmentation. These unique traits make it one of the most striking Gymnos on the market — perfect for advanced cactus collectors seeking something truly unusual.
Beyond aesthetics, Gymnos represent resilience and longevity. Their compact form, slow growth, and low-maintenance needs make them ideal for both home collections and curated cactus displays.
