Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. Hoya carnosa ‘Stardust’ is a beautifully variegated and subtly shimmering cultivar of the classic Hoya carnosa, adored for its speckled foliage and easy-growing nature. A member of the Apocynaceae family and native to Southeast Asia, this cultivar stands out for its uniquely “star-dusted” leaves — each one scattered with tiny, silvery flecks that look like constellations against a green sky.
The leaves are thick, waxy, and succulent-like, with a deep green base splashed with fine silver speckles throughout. Some leaves may also show lighter green marbling or faint variegation. The foliage grows densely along firm vines that can trail or climb, giving the plant a full, elegant appearance.
When mature, Hoya carnosa ‘Stardust’ produces clusters of fragrant, star-shaped pink and white flowers. These blooms have a sweet, slightly spicy scent and add to the cultivar’s celestial charm — making it a favourite among Hoya enthusiasts and collectors who appreciate subtle, natural beauty.
Thrives in bright, indirect light. The distinctive silver speckling becomes more pronounced with good light exposure. Can tolerate some gentle morning sun, but avoid harsh midday rays. Medium light is tolerated but may reduce speckling intensity.
Allow the top 3–5 cm of soil to dry between waterings. As a semi-succulent Hoya, ‘Stardust’ prefers drier conditions and is more tolerant of underwatering than overwatering. Reduce watering in winter.
Temperature: Ideal range is 18–27 °C. Avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 12–14 °C.
Humidity: Average household humidity is fine, though it appreciates moderate humidity (50–70%) for optimal growth and flowering.
Use a very airy, fast-draining mix — such as orchid bark, perlite, coco coir, and a small amount of compost. Hoyas do best in lightly root-bound conditions. Repot every 1–2 years, upsizing only slightly.
Feed every 3–4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser. A bloom-boost fertiliser can be used on mature plants to encourage flowering.
Trim lightly to control shape or encourage branching. Remove any old or yellowing leaves. Never remove the spent flower spurs — Hoyas rebloom from them.
A moderate to fast grower that can trail several metres over time. Mature vines produce clusters of fragrant blooms, especially when given strong light and regular feeding.
Yellow leaves: Overwatering.
Slow growth: Low light or poor drainage.
No flowers: Not enough light or overfeeding with nitrogen.
Pests: Watch for mealybugs and spider mites on leaves and nodes.
Hoya carnosa is a classic houseplant beloved for its durability and beauty, and the ‘Stardust’ cultivar enhances it with a subtle silvery sparkle. Its speckled leaves catch the light delicately, bringing a soft, celestial aesthetic to any indoor space.
This variety is ideal for beginners and collectors alike — easy to care for, forgiving, and visually charming without demanding specialist conditions. Its trailing vines and gentle shimmer make it perfect for shelves, hanging planters, or airy trellised displays.
