Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. We collaborate exclusively with leading courier services, renowned for their reliability and exceptional handling practices, to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition. Hoya dasyanta is a beautiful yet relatively under-the-radar hoya species, appreciated for its elegant foliage and richly coloured, fuzzy flowers. It’s a rewarding plant for hoya lovers who want something a little less common but still manageable in a home setting.
Hoya dasyanta has elongated, slightly pointed leaves that are medium green and fairly thick, giving them a subtly leathery feel. Growth is climbing and vining, making it ideal for a trellis, hoop, or moss pole, though it can also trail if left unsupported.
When mature, it produces striking umbels of deep red to burgundy flowers, often with a velvety or fuzzy texture. The blooms are typically lightly fragrant and can last for several days, making flowering well worth the wait.
Bright indirect light is best. Plenty of light encourages steady growth and improves the chances of flowering. It will tolerate medium light, but growth will slow and blooming is less likely. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Allow the compost to dry out partially between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain away. Like most hoyas, Hoya dasyanta prefers being slightly on the dry side rather than constantly moist. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems.
Prefers moderate to high humidity, ideally around 60%, but it adapts well to average household conditions. Higher humidity supports healthy growth and helps prevent stress during active growth phases.
Thrives in warm conditions between 18–28°C. Avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 14–15°C, which can slow growth and cause leaf drop.
Use a free-draining, chunky hoya mix. A combination of houseplant compost, orchid bark, perlite, and a small amount of coco coir works well. Hoyas like to be slightly root-bound, so repot only every 2–3 years and move up just one pot size.
Feed during spring and summer with a diluted balanced or bloom-supporting fertiliser every 4–6 weeks. Avoid overfeeding, as this can lead to soft growth and reduced flowering. No feeding is required in winter.
Keep the plant slightly root-bound
Provide bright, consistent light
Maintain warm temperatures
Never remove old flower spurs — hoyas rebloom from the same peduncles
Very low maintenance. Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust and keep them healthy. Prune lightly if needed to manage size or encourage branching, cutting just above a node.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage
Wrinkled leaves: Underwatering or root stress
No flowers: Plant is immature or not receiving enough light
Leaf scorch: Too much direct sun
Hoya dasyanta is generally considered pet-friendly, making it suitable for homes with cats and dogs.
