Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. Hoya macrophylla ‘Albo’ (Round Leaf) is a striking variegated hoya prized for its broad, rounded leaves edged and marbled with creamy white variegation. Compared to narrower-leaved forms, this round-leaf variant feels bolder and more architectural, making it a standout foliage plant even when not in flower.
This is a climbing hoya with thick, leathery leaves that harden off as they mature. New growth often emerges with softer green tones before the variegation sharpens and brightens. The white margins can blush pink under strong light, adding seasonal interest. Given support, it climbs readily; without it, stems will trail.
Flowering is possible on mature plants, producing clusters of pale, star-shaped blooms with a gentle fragrance.
Bright indirect light is essential to maintain strong variegation and compact growth. It tolerates medium light, but variegation may reduce. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the white areas.
Allow the compost to partially dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain away. Like most thick-leaved hoyas, it prefers being slightly on the dry side rather than constantly wet.
Prefers moderate to high humidity (50–70%), though it adapts well to average household conditions. Higher humidity supports healthier new growth and reduces stress on variegated leaves.
Best kept between 18–26°C. Protect from cold draughts and temperatures below 14–15°C, which can slow growth or cause leaf drop.
Use a very free-draining, chunky hoya mix. A blend of houseplant compost with orchid bark and perlite works well. Hoyas enjoy being slightly root-bound, so repot every 2–3 years, moving up only one pot size.
Feed lightly during spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertiliser every 4–6 weeks. Overfeeding can cause weak growth and reduce variegation. No feeding is needed in winter.
This variety benefits from a trellis, hoop, or moss pole. Training the vines encourages larger leaves and a more structured plant. Avoid frequent repositioning once it has settled.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering
Brown edges on white areas: Low humidity or direct sun
Loss of variegation: Insufficient light
Slow growth: Normal for variegated hoyas, especially in cooler months
Hoya macrophylla ‘Albo’ is generally considered pet-friendly, making it suitable for homes with cats and dogs.
