Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Philodendron Green Congo is a bold tropical houseplant with large, glossy green leaves and a naturally upright shape. Its broad foliage has a thick, leathery texture, giving the plant a lush, substantial appearance that works beautifully in living rooms, offices and bright indoor corners.
The leaves unfurl from a central growing point, gradually opening into a generous canopy. Their smooth surfaces catch the light, highlighting the rich green colouring and gently curved edges. As the plant matures, its outward-spreading foliage creates an impressive focal point.
Green Congo is a self-heading Philodendron, meaning it forms a supportive central stem rather than producing long climbing vines. It usually needs no moss pole or trellis, making it a practical choice for anyone who enjoys large foliage with a relatively simple care routine. Allow room around the pot for its leaves to spread as it grows.
Position your Philodendron Green Congo in bright, indirect light. A spot near a window with filtered sunlight will encourage healthy growth while protecting the leaves from scorching.
Avoid strong, direct summer sunshine, particularly through south-facing glass. In a darker position, growth may slow and new leaves can be smaller. Rotate the pot occasionally to help the plant develop evenly.
Water when the top 3–5 cm of compost feels dry. Check the compost with your finger rather than watering on a fixed schedule, as its needs change with the season, room temperature and pot size.
Water thoroughly, allowing excess water to drain from the bottom of the nursery pot. Empty the saucer or decorative cover pot afterwards so the roots are never left standing in water.
Aim for lightly moist compost beneath the surface, without keeping the whole pot constantly wet.
Normal indoor temperatures of around 18–27°C suit this plant well. Keep it above 15°C, away from cold draughts, open doors and chilly windowpanes.
Avoid placing it beside a radiator, where concentrated heat can dry the compost and foliage unevenly.
Green Congo appreciates moderately humid air but generally adapts well to ordinary household humidity. A bright bathroom can suit it, provided there is enough natural light.
In a particularly dry room, a humidifier can help maintain more consistent conditions. Keep some airflow around the foliage.
Use a loose, free-draining, peat-free houseplant or aroid compost. A mix containing bark and perlite provides air spaces around the roots while retaining some moisture.
Always choose a pot with drainage holes. Dense compost and oversized containers can stay wet for too long, increasing the risk of root problems.
Feed lightly with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser approximately once a month during active spring and summer growth, following the product’s dilution instructions.
Reduce or pause feeding when growth slows in autumn and winter. Adding extra fertiliser will not compensate for insufficient light or unhealthy roots.
Repot when the roots become crowded or the compost dries out unusually quickly. Spring is a good time, as the plant is entering its main growing period.
Choose a container only slightly larger than the existing rootball and refresh the compost. There is no need to move it into a much larger pot before the roots require the space.
Wipe the broad leaves gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust. Remove dead or badly damaged leaves using clean secateurs, taking care around the central growing point.
Wear gloves when pruning, as Philodendron sap can irritate the skin.
Yellowing leaves: Check for persistently wet compost and poor drainage, particularly if several leaves yellow together.
Wilting: Check the compost before watering; both dry conditions and damaged roots can cause drooping.
Small leaves or slow growth: Review the light level and room temperature.
Pests: Inspect leaf undersides and stems for spider mites, mealybugs, scale and thrips. Isolate an affected plant promptly.
Philodendron Green Congo is harmful if eaten. Keep it out of reach of pets and young children, and avoid contact with its sap.
