Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Prunus dulcis, commonly known as the almond tree, is a beautiful deciduous tree admired both for its early spring blossom and its valuable nuts. Native to the Middle East and South Asia, it’s widely cultivated in warm temperate regions around the world, including parts of southern Europe.
In the UK, almonds can be grown in a sheltered, sunny spot — primarily for their ornamental value and occasional crops of nuts in warm years.
Blossom: Masses of fragrant, pale pink to white flowers appear in early spring, often before the leaves unfurl, covering the branches in delicate colour and attracting early pollinators.
Foliage: Bright green, lance-shaped leaves emerge after flowering, giving a soft, leafy canopy through summer.
Fruit: Produces green, downy fruits that split open when mature to reveal the hard-shelled almond inside. In the UK climate, nuts may form in good summers but aren’t always reliable.
Habit: Typically grows 3–5 metres high, sometimes larger in ideal conditions, with a graceful, spreading form.
Bark: Smooth grey-brown, adding understated winter interest.
With its elegant blossom and compact size, Prunus dulcis is excellent as a specimen tree in lawns, cottage gardens or orchard-style plantings.
Prefers full sun, which is essential for flower bud development and fruit ripening.
Choose a sheltered position, ideally against a south or west-facing wall, to protect early blossom from late frosts.
Protect from cold, drying winds which can damage flowers and young shoots.
Frost protection (such as fleece covers) may be needed during early flowering periods in colder areas.
Once established, almonds are fairly drought tolerant.
Water well during prolonged dry spells, especially in the first few years after planting and during fruit swelling.
Prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soil, ideally slightly alkaline to neutral (pH 6.5–7.5).
Avoid heavy clay or waterlogged areas, which can lead to root rot.
Feed in early spring with a balanced granular fertiliser to support flowering and leaf growth.
Mulch annually with compost or well-rotted manure to conserve moisture and improve soil structure.
Prune lightly in late summer to remove dead, damaged or crossing branches. This reduces the risk of silver leaf disease (common in Prunus species).
Maintain an open shape to improve air circulation and light penetration.
Many almond varieties are self-infertile, needing a compatible partner nearby for reliable nut production.
In the UK, almonds are mainly grown for their ornamental blossom, with nuts as a bonus in warm years.
Can suffer from peach leaf curl and aphids.
Birds may eat young buds or ripening nuts — netting may help protect crops.
