Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Zamioculcas zamiifolia ‘Super Nova’, commonly known as the Super Nova ZZ Plant, is a rare and striking cultivar of the popular ZZ plant, native to East Africa. It belongs to the Araceae family and is celebrated for its near-black foliage, sculptural form, and exceptional durability.
This variety stands out for its deep, glossy leaves that mature to an almost black-purple hue, creating a dramatic, modern aesthetic. Young shoots emerge bright green and gradually darken as they mature, producing a beautiful ombré effect across the plant. Each leaf is thick, waxy, and held upright on strong, fleshy stems that emerge from underground rhizomes, which also store water — making ‘Super Nova’ exceptionally drought-tolerant.
Compact and slow-growing, this variety makes an excellent statement piece for contemporary interiors, offering a bold contrast to lighter-coloured foliage plants while being virtually indestructible.
Tolerates a wide range of light levels, from low to bright indirect light. Best colour and growth occur in moderate to bright conditions. Avoid prolonged harsh sun, which may cause leaf scorch.
Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems — ‘Super Nova’ stores water in its rhizomes and can go weeks without watering. In winter, water even less frequently.
Temperature: Prefers 18–28°C. Protect from draughts and avoid temperatures below 10°C.
Humidity: Adapts well to average indoor humidity and doesn’t require misting.
Use a free-draining, gritty compost – cactus or succulent mix is ideal. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent root rot. Repot only every 2–3 years, as ZZ plants prefer being slightly root-bound.
Feed lightly every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertiliser. No feeding is required in winter.
Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base. Wipe foliage occasionally to enhance its natural shine and reveal the deep black colouration.
A slow-growing plant that reaches 50–70 cm in height. Over time, it forms a dense clump of dark, glossy stems emerging from the soil.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or waterlogged soil.
Pale growth: Insufficient light.
Wrinkled stems: Prolonged drought – water thoroughly, then allow to dry again.
Pests: Rare, but may occasionally attract mealybugs or spider mites.
The ZZ plant is renowned for its resilience and low-maintenance nature, often dubbed “the unkillable plant.” The ‘Super Nova’ cultivar takes this classic species to new heights with its dramatic, dark foliage, making it a favourite for minimalist or contemporary interiors. Like other Zamioculcas, it also acts as a natural air purifier, filtering toxins and improving indoor air quality.
