Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Alocasia zebrina ‘Reticulata’ is a breathtaking tropical hybrid that takes the striking stem pattern of the classic Alocasia zebrina and elevates it with intricately patterned, net-veined foliage. Native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia, this rare variety is prized by collectors for its vivid contrast and fine reticulation — a natural mosaic of green tones that gives each leaf a living, painted texture.
The arrow-shaped leaves feature a mid-green base covered with dark green lattice-like veins, while the petioles display the unmistakable zebrina pattern of dark chocolate-brown stripes on pale yellow stems. The overall effect is both wild and elegant — the perfect fusion of botanical drama and subtle detailing.
Graceful, architectural, and highly decorative, Alocasia zebrina ‘Reticulata’ embodies everything collectors love about the genus: form, pattern, and presence.
Thrives in bright, indirect light. A few hours of gentle morning or late-afternoon sun will help maintain colour contrast and healthy growth. Avoid harsh midday sunlight, which can scorch the delicate leaf surface, and low light, which can cause leggy growth and faded reticulation.
Keep the soil evenly moist but never waterlogged. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Alocasias dislike extremes — too much water leads to root rot, while allowing them to dry out completely can cause leaf drop. During winter dormancy, reduce watering significantly.
Temperature: Prefers 20–28°C; avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 16°C.
Humidity: Enjoys high humidity (60–80%) to prevent crisping edges. Mist regularly, use a humidifier, or place near other tropicals to create a moist microclimate.
Use a light, airy, free-draining aroid mix consisting of compost, orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir. The roots enjoy a balance of airflow and moisture. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the substrate and encourage new growth.
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced fertiliser or one formulated for foliage plants. Suspend feeding in autumn and winter when growth slows or dormancy occurs.
Remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base to maintain a tidy appearance and stimulate new growth. Wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust and highlight their intricate reticulation. Rotate the plant periodically to encourage even light exposure.
A moderate grower, typically reaching 60–90 cm in height and spread indoors. Mature plants form a striking display of upward-arching, patterned leaves supported by bold zebra-striped stems. Over time, each new leaf emerges larger, revealing increasingly defined venation and colour depth.
Yellow leaves: Overwatering or cold stress.
Brown tips: Low humidity or irregular watering.
Drooping leaves: Cold exposure or soil dryness.
Pests: Occasionally spider mites or thrips; maintain humidity and treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap if necessary.
Alocasia zebrina ‘Reticulata’ is a refined cultivar that originates from hybridisation within the Alocasia zebrina lineage. It retains the classic zebra-striped petioles of the parent species while introducing reticulated foliage, a rare trait that adds extra texture and interest.
Native to the tropical rainforests of the Philippines and Borneo, A. zebrina thrives in warm, humid conditions beneath the forest canopy. The ‘Reticulata’ form captures that wild beauty while adapting well to indoor environments. Like all Alocasias, it also contributes to air purification, filtering toxins and adding tropical vibrancy to living spaces.

⚠️ Toxicity note: Contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
Showcase Alocasia zebrina ‘Reticulata’ in a matte black or neutral planter to draw attention to its patterned stems and intricate foliage. It pairs beautifully with silver-toned plants such as Amydrium ‘Silver’ or Scindapsus pictus ‘Tricolour’ for a high-contrast tropical arrangement. For maximum effect, position it where filtered light highlights the network of veins — a subtle, natural masterpiece that catches every eye.
