Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. Alocasia ‘Bambino Variegata’ is a rare and highly desirable variegated form of the compact Alocasia Bambino, combining narrow, arrow-shaped foliage with striking splashes of cream, mint and white variegation. It retains the elegant, elongated leaf shape and dramatic dark green colouring of the standard Bambino, but each leaf develops unique marbled or sectoral patterns that make every plant completely individual.
Its foliage is slender and glossy with pronounced pale veining running through the leaves. The contrast between the rich green background and unpredictable variegation gives it an almost painted appearance. Because Bambino remains smaller and more compact than larger Alocasia species, it is ideal for shelves, cabinets and indoor plant displays where space is limited.
As a variegated Alocasia, it can be slightly more demanding than standard forms. The reduced chlorophyll in lighter areas means it requires brighter conditions and more stable care to maintain healthy growth.
Bright, indirect light is essential for maintaining healthy growth and strong variegation.
Ideal placement:
Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun, which can scorch variegated areas.
Too little light may cause:
Variegated Alocasias generally need more light than their fully green counterparts.
Alocasia ‘Bambino Variegata’ prefers lightly moist soil but dislikes being waterlogged.
Allow the top 2–4cm of soil to dry before watering thoroughly.
General guide:
Spring/Summer: every 5–8 days
Autumn/Winter: every 10–14 days
Keep watering consistent.
Signs of overwatering:
Signs of underwatering:
Humidity is one of the most important factors for successful Alocasia care.
Ideal humidity:
60–80%
Higher humidity helps with:
Cabinets, humidifiers or grouped plant displays work particularly well.
Ideal temperatures:
18–29°C
Avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Protect from:
Alocasias dislike abrupt environmental changes.
Use a chunky, moisture-retentive but free-draining aroid mix.
Recommended blend:
The roots need both moisture and airflow.
Alocasias are relatively hungry plants during active growth.
Feed:
Reduce feeding in colder months.
Like many Alocasias, growth may slow significantly during cooler months.
In winter you may notice:
Reduce watering slightly during these periods but avoid allowing the plant to dry out completely.
Repot approximately every 1–2 years or when:
Choose only a slightly larger pot.
Most commonly propagated through:
Separate offsets or corms during repotting.
Alocasia corms can be rooted in:
Variegation levels can vary between offspring.
Brown leaf edges
Yellow leaves
Drooping leaves
Spider mites
Leaves becoming smaller
