Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Philodendron amplissimum ‘White Variegata’ is a rare and elegant variegated form of Philodendron amplissimum, prized for its long, narrow, paddle-shaped leaves splashed with creamy white variegation. It combines a graceful, climbing growth habit with a light, airy look that feels both tropical and refined. While naturally vigorous, the variegated form grows more slowly and benefits from thoughtful, consistent care.
This cultivar produces elongated, lanceolate leaves that can become impressively long as the plant matures. The foliage is thinner and more flexible than many self-heading Philodendrons, with a smooth surface and softly tapering tips. Variegation appears as marbling, streaks or sectoral patches of white to cream, varying from leaf to leaf and making each one unique.
Philodendron amplissimum ‘White Variegata’ is a true climber. It produces long internodes and aerial roots that actively seek support. When grown up a moss pole, plank or trellis, leaves tend to increase in size and display more dramatic variegation. Left unsupported, the plant will trail, but the overall presentation is far superior when trained vertically.
Flowering indoors is rare and not a focus; this plant is grown almost entirely for its foliage.
Bright, indirect light is essential to maintain healthy growth and strong variegation. A position near an east-facing window or a bright spot set back from a south- or west-facing window works well.
Direct sunlight should be avoided, as the white areas of the leaves are prone to scorching. In low light, growth slows noticeably and variegation may reduce, with new leaves emerging greener.
This Philodendron prefers even moisture with excellent drainage. Allow the top few centimetres of the growing medium to dry slightly between waterings, then water thoroughly and allow excess moisture to drain away.
During spring and summer, watering will be more frequent as the plant actively grows. In autumn and winter, reduce watering and allow the compost to dry a little more between waterings. Prolonged waterlogging can cause root rot, while extended dryness may result in limp or curling leaves.
Philodendron amplissimum ‘White Variegata’ thrives in warm, stable temperatures, ideally between 18–28°C. It is sensitive to cold draughts and should be kept away from unheated rooms or cold windows in winter. Temperatures below 15°C can slow growth and stress the plant.
Moderate to high humidity encourages larger leaves, stronger growth and better variegation. While it can adapt to average household humidity, it performs best when humidity is consistently above 50–60%. Good airflow is important, especially in higher humidity conditions.
A well-draining yet moisture-retentive aroid mix is ideal. The roots need oxygen as well as consistent moisture. A mix containing peat-free compost or coco coir, perlite or pumice, and a small amount of orchid bark works very well.
Choose a pot with good drainage and avoid oversizing. Repot only when the plant becomes root-bound, ideally during the growing season. Providing climbing support early helps establish a strong, tidy growth pattern.
Feed lightly but regularly during the growing season. From spring through late summer, apply a balanced houseplant fertiliser at half strength every four to six weeks. Overfeeding can lead to soft growth and may reduce the quality of variegation.
Do not feed during autumn and winter when growth slows.
Minimal pruning is required. Remove only damaged or unwanted growth using clean tools. Training the plant up a moss pole or support is strongly recommended, as it improves leaf size, structure and overall presentation.
Aerial roots can be gently guided into the support to help the plant anchor itself and take up moisture.
Reduced variegation usually indicates insufficient light. Yellowing leaves can point to overwatering or poor drainage, while curling or drooping leaves often signal underwatering or low humidity. Because of its variegation, this plant is slightly less forgiving than the green form.
Pests are uncommon but can include spider mites in very dry conditions.
Propagation is done via stem cuttings with at least one node. Cuttings can be rooted in water or in a well-aerated propagation mix. Warmth, humidity and bright indirect light encourage rooting, typically within a few weeks.
Philodendron amplissimum ‘White Variegata’ is a refined, collector-grade climber that rewards bright indirect light, climbing support and consistent care. While slower and slightly more sensitive than the green form, it offers exceptional foliage and a graceful growth habit. Given time and stability, it becomes a striking vertical feature with elegant, variegated leaves.
