With Plants for all Seasons's Live Delivery Guarantee, you can shop with complete peace of mind, knowing that your green investments are protected from our nursery to your doorstep.
Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. We collaborate exclusively with leading courier services, renowned for their reliability and exceptional handling practices, to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition. Hoya parasitica ‘Splash’ is a fast-growing, climbing hoya loved for its glossy green leaves dusted with silver “splash” markings. Tougher than many hoyas and quick to establish, it’s an excellent choice if you want something rewarding that still looks a bit special.
This is a vigorous vining hoya with oval to slightly elongated leaves. The silver splash varies from subtle speckling to bold splashes, depending on light and genetics. With support, it will happily climb a moss pole or trellis; without, it trails beautifully from a shelf or hanging pot. Mature plants can produce clusters of small, star-shaped flowers, often cream to pale yellow with a deeper centre and a light, sweet fragrance.
Bright indirect light is ideal. The brighter the light (without direct sun), the better the splash tends to be. It will tolerate medium light, but growth will slow and the silver markings may reduce. Avoid strong, direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Allow the compost to partially dry out between waterings. Hoyas prefer to dry a little rather than stay constantly wet. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain away. Overwatering is the most common issue and can lead to root rot.
Average household humidity is usually fine, but moderate to high humidity (50–70%) will encourage stronger growth and healthier foliage. It’s far more forgiving than many tropical houseplants.
Best kept between 18–26°C. Protect from cold draughts and temperatures below 12–13°C, which can stress the plant and stall growth.
Use a very free-draining mix. A chunky hoya blend works best — houseplant compost mixed with orchid bark, perlite, and a little coco coir. Hoyas like to be slightly root-bound, so don’t rush to repot. Repot every 2–3 years, only one pot size up.
Feed during spring and summer with a diluted balanced or foliage fertiliser every 4–6 weeks. Reduce or stop feeding in autumn and winter. Overfeeding can cause weak growth and leaf drop.
Keep the plant slightly root-bound
Provide bright indirect light
Don’t remove old flower spurs — hoyas rebloom from the same peduncles
Be patient; younger plants focus on foliage first
Minimal maintenance required. Wipe leaves occasionally to keep them glossy and dust-free. Prune lightly if needed to control length or encourage branching — cut just above a node.
Yellow leaves: Often overwatering
Wrinkled or soft leaves: Underwatering or root issues
Loss of splash: Not enough light
No flowers: Too little light or plant still immature
Hoya parasitica ‘Splash’ is generally considered pet-safe, making it suitable for homes with cats and dogs.
