Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Mini Tradescantia is a compact form of the much-loved Tradescantia genus, also known as Wandering Jew or Inch Plant. Native to the Americas, particularly Central and South America, tradescantias are part of the Commelinaceae family and are admired for their colourful foliage, vigorous growth, and easy care.
The “mini” forms are bred or selected for their small stature and neat growth habit, making them ideal for terrariums, small pots, and decorative arrangements where larger tradescantias might overwhelm. The leaves are characteristically ovate and glossy, with colours depending on the cultivar – from green and purple to variegated white, silver, and pink. Their trailing habit allows them to spill beautifully over pot edges, but in miniature form the growth remains tidier and more compact.
Mini Tradescantias are excellent for adding texture and colour to small spaces. Their adaptability and modest care requirements make them suitable for both beginners and experienced plant keepers, and their petite size ensures they fit easily into terrariums, dish gardens, and mixed displays.
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain vivid colours. In lower light, foliage may turn more green and lose variegation. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch delicate leaves, especially variegated varieties.
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Tradescantias like evenly moist soil but are prone to root rot if left sitting in water. In summer, this may mean watering once a week; in winter, reduce slightly.
Temperature: Thrives in 18–24°C. Keep above 12°C at all times.
Humidity: Appreciates moderate to high humidity, particularly in terrariums. Mist occasionally or use a pebble tray if kept in drier rooms.
Use a free-draining potting mix – peat-free compost blended with perlite works well. Small decorative containers, terrarium soil blends, or shallow bowls are ideal for mini varieties. Repot annually or when roots outgrow their container.
Feed every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser diluted to half strength. Stop feeding in winter.
Pinch back leggy stems to encourage bushier growth. Tradescantias are naturally vigorous but mini varieties still benefit from regular trimming to maintain a tidy appearance. Stems can be propagated easily from cuttings.
Mini Tradescantias remain compact, usually reaching only 10–15 cm tall, with trailing stems spreading a little further. Their fast growth ensures they quickly fill a pot or terrarium with lush foliage.
Leggy growth: A sign of insufficient light – move closer to a bright window.
Yellowing leaves: Usually due to overwatering or poor drainage.
Pests: May attract spider mites or aphids in dry conditions; inspect regularly.
Tradescantias have long been valued as ornamental plants both indoors and outdoors. Miniature varieties bring the same vibrancy and ease of care but in a compact form suited to small-scale displays. They are perfect for terrarium enthusiasts, those with limited space, or anyone looking for a splash of colour in a petite, manageable plant.
