Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Hedera helix ‘Green Ivy’ is a classic form of English Ivy, a versatile and evergreen climbing or trailing plant from the Araliaceae family. Native to Europe and Western Asia, it has been cherished for centuries for its adaptability, resilience, and decorative value both indoors and outdoors.
‘Green Ivy’ is distinguished by its glossy, deep green leaves, typically lobed and pointed, with a neat and uniform appearance. Unlike variegated cultivars, this form offers a solid, rich green colour that creates a clean, classic look. Its growth habit is vigorous, producing trailing stems that cascade beautifully from hanging baskets or shelves, or climbing readily on supports and trellises.
As a houseplant, it brings a lush, natural charm to interiors while requiring little maintenance. Outdoors, it can be used as ground cover, for greening walls and fences, or in containers. Its evergreen nature ensures year-round colour, making it one of the most enduringly popular ivy cultivars.
Indoors: Prefers bright, indirect light but tolerates medium light.
Outdoors: Thrives in partial to full shade but also copes with some sun, particularly in cooler climates.
Keep the soil lightly moist, especially for indoor plants. Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid waterlogging, which can cause root rot, and prolonged dryness, which may lead to leaf drop.
Temperature: Indoors, prefers cooler conditions of 12–20°C. Outdoors, fully hardy and tolerant of frost.
Humidity: Appreciates moderate humidity indoors; mist occasionally in dry rooms to prevent browning edges.
Indoors: Use a free-draining, peat-free houseplant compost.
Outdoors: Adapts to most soil types, provided they are not waterlogged. Repot container-grown ivy every 2–3 years or refresh the top layer of compost annually.
Indoors: Feed once a month in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Outdoors: Feed annually in spring with a slow-release fertiliser if grown in containers.
Prune regularly to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Trim long or leggy stems back to promote a fuller plant. Ivy is vigorous and may need frequent trimming outdoors to control spread.
A fast grower, ‘Green Ivy’ can trail or climb several metres if left unchecked outdoors. Indoors, it remains more compact but still produces attractive trailing stems ideal for hanging baskets and shelves.
Leaf yellowing: Often due to overwatering or poor drainage.
Leaf drop: Can result from underwatering or sudden changes in temperature.
Pests: Indoors, may attract spider mites or aphids in dry conditions.
English Ivy has long been valued as a symbol of resilience and eternity, often used in gardens, architecture, and folklore. Beyond its symbolism, it is also recognised for its air-purifying properties, making it a healthy and attractive addition to interiors. The solid-green cultivar ‘Green Ivy’ provides a timeless, elegant aesthetic that suits both traditional and modern settings.
