Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. The Philodendron Red Anderson is a rare and highly sought-after variegated philodendron known for its dramatic blend of deep green, creamy white and blush-pink to burgundy-red colouring. New leaves often emerge with striking pink or red tones before maturing into a marbled mix of colours, making every leaf completely unique.
Unlike many philodendrons, Red Anderson has a more upright, climbing growth habit. Given support from a moss pole or totem, it can produce larger, more dramatic foliage over time. Mature plants can become impressively tall, with long stems and broad leaves that make a real statement in any indoor plant collection.
Because of the high level of variegation, no two plants are the same. Some leaves may have heavy splashes of white and pink, whilst others may be mostly green with just a hint of colour. Lower leaves can occasionally yellow or fade as the plant grows, which is normal.
Light
Philodendron Red Anderson thrives in bright, indirect light. The stronger the light, the better the variegation and red tones will be. Avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the pale sections of the leaves. Too little light may cause the plant to lose variegation and produce smaller, greener leaves.
Watering
Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let any excess drain away. Red Anderson dislikes sitting in wet compost and is prone to root rot if kept too damp.
Humidity
This plant prefers higher humidity levels, ideally above 60%. It will grow in average household humidity, but the leaves may stay smaller and the variegated sections can brown more easily. A humid room, pebble tray or humidifier will help it thrive.
Temperature
Keep between 18–28°C. Avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C.
Soil
Use a loose, airy houseplant mix that drains well. A blend of houseplant compost, orchid bark, perlite and a little coco coir works very well.
Feeding
Feed every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser at half strength. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter.
Support
As a climbing philodendron, Red Anderson benefits greatly from a moss pole or support. This encourages larger leaves, stronger growth and a more impressive shape.
Common Issues
With the right care, Philodendron Red Anderson becomes a spectacular, colourful climbing plant and one of the standout pieces in any rare houseplant collection.
