Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Acer palmatum dissectum ‘Ornatum’ is a classic lace-leaf Japanese maple, admired for its finely cut foliage, graceful cascading shape, and ever-changing colour through the seasons. One of the older and most reliable cultivars, ‘Ornatum’ brings an elegant, architectural quality to gardens.
Foliage: Deeply dissected, lace-like leaves emerge bronze-red in spring, mature to rich reddish-green or bronze-green in summer, then blaze with brilliant scarlet to crimson hues in autumn. The fine texture creates a delicate, airy look.
Habit: A small, slow-growing, mounding tree with gracefully arching branches. It typically reaches 1.5–2.5 metres high with a wider spread (up to 3–4 metres), forming a beautiful dome.
Bark: Young branches have a slight reddish tone, adding subtle winter interest.
This variety is perfect near ponds, in rock gardens, or as a specimen in lawns and borders. Its cascading habit also makes it excellent for showing off on raised banks or walls, where its branches can drape naturally.
Prefers partial shade or dappled sunlight.
A little morning sun enhances leaf colour, but protect from hot afternoon sun which can scorch the fine leaves.
Shelter from strong winds is essential to prevent leaf damage.
Plant in a protected spot, avoiding exposed, windy sites.
Also protect from late frosts, which can damage new growth.
Likes consistently moist but well-drained soil.
Avoid allowing the soil to dry out completely, particularly in pots or during hot weather.
Annual mulching helps maintain moisture and keeps the root zone cool.
Prefers slightly acidic to neutral, fertile, humus-rich soil that drains freely.
Avoid heavy clay or alkaline soils. If necessary, improve soil with organic matter or plant in raised beds or containers with ericaceous compost.
Feed lightly in spring with a balanced slow-release fertiliser or an acer-specific feed.
Avoid high-nitrogen feeds, which can produce soft growth more prone to wind and frost.
Minimal pruning needed.
Remove any dead, damaged or crossing branches in late autumn or winter while dormant.
Light shaping can also be done then. Avoid heavy pruning, which can spoil its natural cascading shape.
Generally pest-free.
May occasionally suffer from aphids on new shoots.
Leaf scorch (brown edges or tips) is usually due to drought, hot sun, or strong winds.
Excellent choice for a large pot, ideal for patios or small gardens.
Use ericaceous compost mixed with grit for drainage, and raise pots on feet to ensure water runs out freely.
Keep well watered in summer and protect container roots from freezing in winter by wrapping or moving to a sheltered spot.
