Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Begonia ‘Speckled’ is a vibrant and eye-catching variety prized for its dazzlingly patterned foliage and easy-going tropical charm. A member of the Begoniaceae family, this decorative species hails from the warm, humid forests of South and Central America, where it thrives in dappled light beneath the canopy.
The leaves of Begonia ‘Speckled’ are its main attraction — each one a living canvas splashed, spotted, or freckled with silver, cream, or pink against rich green or bronze backgrounds. No two leaves are exactly alike, creating a dynamic, painterly effect that shifts as the plant grows. Its compact, bushy growth habit and continuous display of colour make it perfect for brightening up shaded indoor corners or adding contrast to tropical plant arrangements.
Graceful, colourful, and wonderfully unique, Begonia ‘Speckled’ is a statement plant for those who love intricate foliage and artistic natural detail.
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate leaves, and deep shade, which can cause loss of variegation and leggy growth. East- or north-facing windows are ideal.
Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry, and always allow excess water to drain away. Begonias dislike sitting in water but can suffer if allowed to dry out completely. In winter, reduce watering slightly but maintain gentle moisture.
Temperature: Prefers warmth between 18–26 °C; avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15 °C.
Humidity: Moderate to high humidity (50–70%) keeps the leaves healthy and prevents crisping. Avoid misting directly onto the leaves — instead, place the pot on a pebble tray or use a humidifier.
Use a light, airy, and well-draining mix — compost blended with perlite, coco coir, and a little bark works beautifully. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh nutrients and maintain soil aeration. Begonias prefer to be slightly root-bound, so choose a pot that just accommodates the root system.
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertiliser. Over-fertilising can damage delicate roots and leaves, so feed sparingly. Suspend feeding during the cooler months when growth slows.
Pinch back growing tips to encourage bushier growth and remove any yellow or damaged leaves at the base to maintain a neat appearance. Wipe leaves gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and reveal their striking speckled patterns.
A compact and moderately fast-growing variety, Begonia ‘Speckled’ typically reaches 30–45 cm in height and width indoors. With consistent care, it produces dense, vibrant foliage year-round and may also display small clusters of pink or white flowers in the right conditions.
Crispy leaf edges: Low humidity or irregular watering.
Yellow leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.
Leggy growth: Insufficient light.
Pests: Occasionally affected by thrips, mealybugs, or spider mites — treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
Part of the vast and diverse Begonia genus, Begonia ‘Speckled’ is a hybrid cultivar bred for ornamental foliage rather than flowers. Its spotted, variegated leaves are reminiscent of tropical art and have made it a favourite among houseplant enthusiasts for terrariums, desktops, and shaded tropical collections.
Beyond its decorative value, Begonias contribute to improved indoor air quality and create a soothing, natural ambience. Symbolically, they represent balance and harmony — a fitting reflection of their delicate yet resilient nature.
