Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Begonia ‘Aiai’ is a truly unusual and eye-catching foliage begonia, prized for its dramatic colouring and heavily textured leaves. The foliage features deep tones of dark green, bronze and almost black, highlighted by striking metallic silver patterning and contrasting veining.
The leaves have a beautifully sculpted, slightly ruffled appearance which gives the plant an almost prehistoric look. As the plant matures, the foliage becomes even more impressive, creating a dense, layered display full of colour and texture.
Begonia ‘Aiai’ is a compact grower, making it perfect for shelves, plant cabinets, terrariums or smaller spaces where its unusual foliage can be appreciated up close. It looks particularly striking displayed amongst other rare begonias or dark foliage plants.
Each plant is unique and the amount of silver patterning, dark colouring and leaf shape can vary slightly from plant to plant.
Please note that Begonia ‘Aiai’ has naturally delicate leaves and it is common for the occasional older leaf to show a small mark, slight tear or a little browning around the edges, particularly after transport. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect the health of the plant. New growth will continue to emerge as the plant settles into its new environment.
Begonia ‘Aiai’ prefers bright, indirect light. Plenty of filtered light will help maintain the rich colouring and metallic tones in the leaves.
Avoid direct sunlight, especially strong midday sun, as this can scorch the delicate foliage and fade the colours.
A spot near an east or north-facing window is ideal. It can also grow very well under grow lights or in a cabinet.
Keep the compost lightly moist, allowing the top 1–2cm of soil to dry slightly between waterings.
Begonias dislike sitting in wet compost, so avoid overwatering. Always allow excess water to drain away.
At the same time, do not allow the plant to dry out completely for long periods, as this can cause crispy leaf edges or leaf drop.
Begonia ‘Aiai’ thrives in moderate to high humidity. It grows best with humidity levels of at least 60%.
A plant cabinet, terrarium or room with a humidifier is ideal. In lower humidity, the leaf edges may become brown or crispy.
Avoid misting directly onto the leaves, as moisture sitting on the foliage can sometimes encourage marks or mildew.
Keep your Begonia ‘Aiai’ warm, ideally between 18°C and 26°C.
Avoid temperatures below 15°C, cold draughts and sudden changes in temperature.
Use a light, airy and free-draining potting mix.
A suitable begonia mix may include:
Houseplant compost or peat-free compost
Perlite
Fine bark
Coco coir
This helps retain some moisture whilst still allowing airflow around the roots.
Feed every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted liquid houseplant fertiliser.
Reduce feeding in autumn and winter when growth slows.
Begonia ‘Aiai’ has a compact, bushy growth habit. Over time it will gradually produce more stems and leaves, creating a fuller plant.
If needed, you can pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier growth.
Because the foliage is delicate and highly textured, it is normal for the occasional older leaf to develop small brown edges, tiny marks or slight imperfections.
This is particularly common after transport or if the humidity has been lower than ideal.
Minor cosmetic damage is nothing to worry about and the plant will continue to produce fresh, healthy new growth.
Begonia ‘Aiai’ is toxic if ingested, so it should be kept away from pets and children.
