Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. We collaborate exclusively with leading courier services, renowned for their reliability and exceptional handling practices, to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition. Alocasia ‘Dragon Breath’ is a dramatic, highly sought-after aroid celebrated for its deep, smoky foliage and striking raised venation that resembles dragon scales. A member of the Araceae family, this captivating hybrid is adored by collectors for its bold presence, sculptural growth habit, and the almost mythical quality of its leaves.
Each leaf displays a rich charcoal-to-emerald gradient with pronounced, glowing veins that ripple across the surface, creating an intense, textured look. The thick, slightly glossy leaves unfurl one by one, each new leaf emerging brighter and sharper before maturing into deeper tones. Its upright, elegant posture makes it a standout specimen on plant shelves, sideboards, or as a centrepiece in any plant collection.
Exotic, architectural, and full of personality, Alocasia ‘Dragon Breath’ brings a sense of depth and drama to any room — perfect for collectors and interior plant stylists seeking something uniquely eye-catching.
Prefers bright, indirect light. Keep it away from harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves and dull the dark colouring. It tolerates medium light but will grow more slowly.
Keep the soil lightly and consistently moist, allowing the top 2–3 cm to dry between waterings. Avoid letting it sit in water, as Alocasias are sensitive to waterlogging. Water less frequently in winter when growth naturally slows.
Temperature: Ideal range 18–26 °C. Protect from cold draughts and avoid temperatures below 15 °C.
Humidity: High humidity (60–80%) is preferred to maintain leaf texture and prevent browning. A humidifier, pebble tray, or grouping with other plants works well.
Use a rich, airy, fast-draining mix — a blend of houseplant compost, perlite, orchid bark, and a little coco coir is ideal. Repot every 1–2 years in spring, choosing a pot only slightly larger than the current one to avoid excess moisture retention.
Feed every 2–3 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter.
Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves at the base to keep the plant tidy and healthy. Wipe leaves occasionally to enhance their leathery sheen and highlight the veining.
A moderate grower that typically reaches 40–70 cm in height. Produces new leaves regularly when provided with warmth, bright light, and humidity. Over time, forms a compact clump of upright, sculptural foliage.
Crispy edges: Low humidity or underwatering.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.
Drooping: Often a sign of cold temperatures or root stress.
Spider mites: More common in dry air; monitor regularly and maintain humidity.
Alocasias have long been admired for their bold, ornamental leaves and distinct silhouettes, and ‘Dragon Breath’ is no exception — offering one of the most enchanting leaf textures in the genus. Its dramatic veining and rich tones make it a natural focal point in living rooms, offices, and curated plant displays.
This hybrid is perfect for plant collectors, design-led interiors, and anyone wanting a sculptural houseplant that adds atmosphere and visual depth. Its strong personality and unique leaf patterning make it a conversation starter and a centrepiece in any indoor garden.
