Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. We collaborate exclusively with leading courier services, renowned for their reliability and exceptional handling practices, to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition. Alocasia ‘Sabrina’ is a beautifully refined aroid cherished for its soft, velvety foliage, elegant shape, and gentle variegated tones. A member of the Araceae family and believed to be a cultivated form originating from Southeast Asia, this variety stands out for its silky, satin-like leaf texture and subtle, painterly patterning.
The leaves are heart-shaped with a smooth, velvety finish, typically displaying shades of sage green, silvery mint, and soft grey, often overlaid with delicate darker vein lines. As the plant matures, the contrast between the veining and leaf surface becomes more pronounced, giving it a sophisticated, luminous appearance. The petioles are slender, upright, and lightly mottled, adding to the plant’s elegant, sculptural form.
With its gentle colours, tactile foliage, and clean outline, Alocasia ‘Sabrina’ brings a calm, serene atmosphere to any collection — ideal for interior plant styling and collectors who appreciate understated, refined foliage.
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its soft colouring and healthy growth. Medium light is tolerated but may produce slightly darker, less defined foliage. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can damage the velvety leaf surface.
Keep the soil lightly and consistently moist. Allow the top 2–3 cm to dry between waterings, but never let the plant sit in soggy soil. Reduce watering during winter when growth naturally slows.
Temperature: Thrives between 18–26 °C. Avoid temperatures below 15 °C and protect from draughts.
Humidity: Prefers high humidity (60–80%), which helps maintain leaf texture and prevents crisping. A humidifier or grouping plants together can help.
Use a rich, airy aroid mix — ideally a blend of houseplant compost, perlite, orchid bark, and coco coir. Excellent drainage and root aeration are essential. Repot every 1–2 years, increasing the pot size only slightly.
Feed every 2–3 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter.
Remove older or yellowing leaves at the base. Gently wipe the velvety leaves with a barely damp cloth or soft brush to avoid damaging the surface. Support young plants if needed until roots anchor firmly.
A moderate grower that typically reaches 30–60 cm in height. Mature plants develop larger, more defined leaves with stronger vein contrast and a fuller rosette shape.
Crispy edges: Caused by low humidity or underwatering.
Yellow leaves: Usually from overwatering or poor drainage.
Pale or washed-out leaves: Too much direct light.
Pests: Watch for spider mites, thrips, and mealybugs on tender foliage.
Alocasia ‘Sabrina’ is ideal for collectors who enjoy plants with a gentle presence and refined texture. Unlike highly variegated or dramatically patterned varieties, Sabrina’s beauty lies in its softness — cool tones, velvety leaves, and elegant form. Its calming aesthetic suits modern, minimalist, and Scandinavian-style interiors beautifully.
Because of its compact, well-behaved growth habit, it’s perfect for desks, side tables, terrarium-style displays, or curated aroid collections.
