Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. Anthurium ‘Queen of Hearts’ is a breathtaking and highly coveted hybrid renowned for its bold, velvety foliage, deep luxurious colouring, and dramatic, heart-shaped leaves. A member of the Araceae family, this regal cultivar is celebrated for its thick, plush leaf texture and intense beauty — living up perfectly to its royal name.
The large, perfectly sculpted hearts are typically a rich, dark green to deep oxblood or burgundy, depending on the clone and lighting. Their velvety surface shimmers with a subtle sheen, while the veining may appear softly recessed or delicately highlighted, giving the plant incredible depth and dimension. New leaves often emerge in shades of crimson, ruby, or chocolate before darkening as they mature.
As the plant develops, it forms a majestic rosette of broad, deeply coloured leaves supported by sturdy petioles. Anthurium ‘Queen of Hearts’ is admired for its elegant symmetry, refined silhouette, and sultry, romantic aesthetic — a true centrepiece for high-end plant collectors and lovers of dramatic foliage.
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Medium light is tolerated, but the deepest leaf colours and largest hearts develop in stronger filtered light. Avoid direct sun, especially midday, which can scorch the velvety surface.
Keep the soil lightly and consistently moist, allowing the top 2–4 cm to dry between waterings. Avoid waterlogging, as velvety-leaf Anthuriums are highly sensitive to soggy conditions. Reduce watering slightly in winter.
Temperature: Prefers warm conditions of 18–26 °C. Avoid temperatures below 15 °C and harsh drafts.
Humidity: High humidity (70–90%) is essential for rich colouring, texture, and large leaf development. Best grown in a greenhouse cabinet, humid room, or with a humidifier.
Use a chunky, airy, fast-draining aroid mix. Ideal ingredients include orchid bark, perlite, sphagnum moss, charcoal, and coco coir. Excellent aeration is critical. Repot every 1–2 years, but only upsize slightly.
Feed every 2–3 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Calcium-supplemented feeds can help support strong leaf structure and healthy growth.
Remove yellowing or older leaves at the base. Avoid wiping velvety leaves with wet cloths — instead, use a soft brush or gentle airflow to remove dust. Provide support if leaves reach very large sizes.
A moderate grower that becomes more impressive with age. Mature specimens produce large, perfectly heart-shaped leaves and richer, deeper colours. Growth slows during cooler months or in insufficient humidity.
Brown edges: Low humidity or inconsistent watering.
Pale leaves: Not enough light or nutrients.
Wilting/drooping: Cold temperatures or water stress.
Pests: Watch for thrips, spider mites, and aphids, which favour velvety surfaces.
Anthurium ‘Queen of Hearts’ is regarded as one of the most beautiful hybrid velvet Anthuriums, beloved by collectors for its rich, romantic tones and perfectly sculpted leaves. Its dramatic colouring and sensual texture make it suitable as a focal plant in any collection, adding elegance and emotional warmth to interiors.
This hybrid is often featured in premium plant displays, botanical cabinets, and curated aroid setups due to its rarity, presence, and striking aesthetic. Few plants can match its combination of structure, colour, and luxury.
