Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. Hoya lacunosa ‘Laos’ is a compact, highly floriferous hoya form admired for its small, textured leaves and intensely fragrant flowers. Originating from Laos, this variety stays neat and manageable, making it perfect for shelves, hanging pots, or small trellises.
This is a fine-leaved, trailing hoya with small, oval leaves that often show subtle texture or light veining. Growth is dense rather than leggy, especially in good light. It’s best known for its frequent flowering: tight clusters of fuzzy, star-shaped blooms, usually creamy white with a yellow centre.
The flowers are strongly scented, often described as sweet, spicy, or cinnamon-like—especially noticeable in the evening.
Bright indirect light is ideal. Good light encourages compact growth and regular flowering. It tolerates medium light, but flowering will be reduced. Avoid strong direct sun, which can scorch the small leaves.
Allow the compost to dry out slightly between waterings. Hoya lacunosa has fine roots and dislikes sitting in wet soil. Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain away. It’s more tolerant of slight underwatering than overwatering.
Prefers moderate to high humidity (50–70%), though it adapts well to normal household conditions. Higher humidity can encourage faster growth and more reliable blooming.
Thrives between 18–26°C. Protect from cold draughts and temperatures below 14–15°C, which can slow growth and stress the plant.
Use a very free-draining, airy hoya mix. A blend of houseplant compost, orchid bark, and perlite works well. This species enjoys being slightly root-bound, which often encourages flowering, so repot only every 2–3 years.
Feed lightly during spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertiliser every 4–6 weeks. Avoid heavy feeding, which can lead to soft growth at the expense of flowers. No feeding is needed in winter.
Keep slightly root-bound
Provide bright, consistent light
Warm temperatures help trigger blooms
Never remove old flower spurs — flowers rebloom from the same peduncles
Very low maintenance. Trim lightly if needed to control length or encourage branching. Avoid frequent repositioning, as hoyas prefer stable conditions.
Yellowing leaves: Usually overwatering
Soft or wrinkled leaves: Inconsistent watering or root stress
Few flowers: Insufficient light or plant still establishing
Leaf scorch: Too much direct sun
Like most hoyas, Hoya lacunosa ‘Laos’ is generally considered pet-friendly, making it suitable for homes with cats and dogs.
