Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. Peperomia obtusifolia ‘Green’ is a compact and fuss-free houseplant prized for its thick, glossy, deep green leaves and its ability to thrive in a variety of indoor conditions. Native to Central and South America, this tropical evergreen features succulent-like foliage that stores water, making it an excellent choice for beginners or busy plant parents.
Also known as the Green Baby Rubber Plant, it adds a lush, polished look to desks, shelves, and windowsills without demanding much in return. With its upright growth and cheerful foliage, it brings a touch of nature indoors while purifying the air.
🌿 Botanical name: Peperomia obtusifolia ‘Green’
🪴 Common name: Baby Rubber Plant (Green Form)
🌤 Light: Bright, indirect light to partial shade
💧 Watering: Allow top 3–4cm of soil to dry before watering
🌡 Temperature: 18–26°C; protect from cold drafts
🧴 Humidity: Moderate; tolerates household levels well
🐾 Pet friendly? ✅ Non-toxic to cats and dogs (ASPCA approved)
This plant does best in bright, indirect light, but it’s adaptable and can tolerate lower light levels too. Avoid strong, direct sun, which can scorch the fleshy leaves. Ideal for north or east-facing windows, or a few feet back from a bright window.
Let the top of the soil dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly when the top 3–4cm of soil feels dry. The succulent-like leaves store moisture, so it's better to underwater than overwater. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent soggy soil and root rot.
Average indoor humidity is sufficient. While it doesn’t require high humidity, it does appreciate a gentle misting in very dry conditions, especially during winter when central heating can dry the air.
Keep your Peperomia obtusifolia ‘Green’ in a warm room between 18–26°C. Avoid cold windowsills and sudden temperature drops. It’s not frost-hardy, so keep indoors year-round in the UK.
Use a well-draining potting mix – a general houseplant compost with added perlite or orchid bark works well. A mix designed for succulents or epiphytes is also suitable.
Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. No feeding is necessary in autumn or winter when the plant’s growth slows.
Pinch back any leggy growth to maintain a bushy shape.
Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to keep them dust-free and glossy.
Repot only when rootbound (every 2–3 years).
Peperomia is easy to propagate from leaf or stem cuttings. Place cuttings in water or moist compost and keep warm until roots develop.
Mushy stems or yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage
Drooping leaves: Underwatering or sudden temperature changes
Leaf drop: Often due to cold drafts or low light
Dull foliage: Dust buildup or low light exposure
Perfect for minimalist pots, desks, and shelf styling
Combine with other pet-safe plants for a lush, non-toxic indoor jungle
Looks great in hanging planters or grouped with other Peperomias
