Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Ficus elastica ‘Robusta’, commonly known as the Rubber Plant ‘Robusta’, is a classic and enduring houseplant loved for its bold, glossy leaves and strong architectural presence. A member of the Moraceae family and native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, this variety is one of the hardiest and easiest Ficus to grow indoors — a timeless symbol of strength, vitality, and tropical elegance.
Each thick, leathery leaf is a rich, deep green with a lustrous finish and a pronounced central vein. The plant’s upright, sculptural form makes it an ideal choice for adding height and structure to interior spaces. Compact when young but capable of growing into a small indoor tree over time, Ficus ‘Robusta’ effortlessly combines durability with style — a statement piece that thrives with minimal fuss.
Thrives in bright, indirect light but tolerates moderate light conditions. It prefers filtered sunlight, though it can adapt to slightly lower light. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which may scorch the leaves, and avoid very dim areas where growth may slow.
Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. Keep the soil lightly moist in spring and summer but allow it to dry slightly between waterings. In winter, water less frequently. Always ensure good drainage, as Ficus ‘Robusta’ dislikes sitting in waterlogged soil.
Temperature: Prefers warmth between 18–28 °C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Humidity: Average indoor humidity (40–60%) is usually sufficient. Mist occasionally or wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and maintain their healthy shine.
Use a rich, well-draining potting mix — compost combined with perlite and a little bark or sand is ideal. Repot every 2–3 years in spring to refresh nutrients and allow room for root growth. Choose a heavy, stable pot to support its upright form.
Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertiliser. Avoid over-fertilising and suspend feeding in autumn and winter.
Prune lightly in spring or summer to shape the plant and control height. Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves at the base. Wipe the large leaves regularly with a soft, damp cloth to restore their shine and support photosynthesis. Rotate occasionally to encourage even growth.
A moderate to fast grower, Ficus ‘Robusta’ can reach 2–3 metres indoors with time and care. It forms a strong, upright trunk and broad, glossy leaves that create an effortlessly tropical statement. With consistent care, this variety can live for decades, becoming more impressive each year.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.
Brown edges: Low humidity or under-watering.
Leaf drop: Caused by environmental change, drafts, or inconsistent watering.
Pests: Occasionally affected by scale or spider mites — treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
Ficus elastica ‘Robusta’ is a cultivar of the traditional Rubber Tree, once grown extensively for its latex-producing sap. Today, it’s primarily cultivated as an ornamental plant, admired for its durability and glossy aesthetic. Its large leaves help purify the air by filtering toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene, making it both beautiful and beneficial.
A long-time interior design favourite, ‘Robusta’ symbolises endurance, stability, and abundance — qualities that make it as meaningful as it is striking.
