Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Alocasia ‘Venom’ is a rare and electrifying hybrid aroid prized for its dramatic, elongated foliage and intense contrasting veins. A member of the Araceae family and believed to originate from selective breeding of Southeast Asian Alocasia species, this striking cultivar brings a bold, almost dangerous beauty to any tropical plant collection — hence its name, ‘Venom’.
Its long, narrow, arrow-shaped leaves are a deep, glossy green to nearly black, highlighted by sharp, neon-green primary veins that create a fierce, reptilian look. The foliage texture is slightly leathery with subtle rippling, giving each leaf a sculptural presence. As it matures, Alocasia ‘Venom’ develops a tall, upright form with powerful posture, making it an ideal statement plant for collectors who love dark, moody, exotic foliage.
Mysterious, modern, and visually striking, this plant is sure to command attention wherever it’s placed.
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the dark foliage, while very low light can cause leggy growth and diminished contrast. East- or north-facing windows are ideal.
Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry, allowing excess moisture to drain freely. Reduce watering slightly in winter, but never allow it to fully dry out.
Temperature: Prefers warm conditions between 18–28 °C; avoid temperatures below 15 °C.
Humidity: High humidity (60–80%) is essential for preventing crisping and supporting strong leaf development. Use a humidifier or group with other tropicals to increase moisture.
Use an airy, well-draining aroid mix—compost, perlite, coco coir, and orchid bark work beautifully. This helps maintain moisture while preventing root rot. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the substrate and support healthy growth.
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer using a diluted, balanced fertiliser. Avoid over-fertilisation, which can damage the root system. Pause feeding in autumn and winter when growth slows.
Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base to maintain an attractive shape. Wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth to maintain their sheen and highlight their striking venation. Rotate the plant regularly to encourage even growth.
A moderate grower, Alocasia ‘Venom’ typically reaches 60–90 cm in height and spread. Mature plants display more intense colour contrast and increasingly pronounced leaf structure. Like many Alocasias, it may experience a dormant phase during cooler months.
Yellow leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.
Brown tips: Low humidity or inconsistent watering.
Drooping: Cold stress or insufficient moisture.
Pests: Occasionally affected by thrips or spider mites — treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
Although its exact parentage is closely guarded by growers, Alocasia ‘Venom’ is thought to descend from hybrid lines featuring species such as Alocasia longiloba and Alocasia zebrina. Its dramatic venation and sleek, upright form make it one of the most visually intense Alocasia hybrids on the market.
Symbolically, the plant’s fierce look represents power, strength, and transformation — a fitting choice for bold interior design themes. Its dark foliage also contributes to air purification, helping create a cleaner and more vibrant indoor environment.
