Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. We collaborate exclusively with leading courier services, renowned for their reliability and exceptional handling practices, to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition. Anthurium Pinkleyi
Anthurium Pinkleyi is a distinctive tropical foliage plant admired for its deeply lobed leaves and elegant, spreading shape. Mature leaves divide into three pronounced sections: a long central lobe and two outward-facing side lobes. This unusual outline gives the foliage a sculptural appearance, making it a striking addition to an Anthurium collection.
The leaves are medium green above with paler undersides and a matte to softly glossy finish. Long leaf stalks hold the foliage away from the stem, allowing the individual shapes to stand out. Its appeal lies in these proportions and the developing leaf structure, which bring interest to a display of broader, heart-shaped foliage.
Native to north-eastern Ecuador, Anthurium Pinkleyi comes from wet tropical forest conditions. Indoors, it benefits from warmth, humid air and an open growing medium that keeps moisture available without restricting airflow around the roots. Stable conditions and consistent care encourage healthy new foliage as the plant establishes.
Light
Provide bright, indirect light. A position near a bright window, protected from strong midday and afternoon sunshine, is ideal. Direct sun can scorch the leaves, while insufficient light slows growth.
Allow space around the plant so its spreading leaves receive light without pressing against neighbouring plants or window glass.
Watering
Keep the growing medium lightly moist during active growth, allowing the surface to begin drying between waterings. Avoid letting the entire root ball become completely dry or leaving the roots in saturated compost.
Water thoroughly until excess drains from the pot, then empty the saucer or decorative outer container. Check moisture before watering rather than following a fixed weekly schedule.
Room-temperature rainwater or suitably filtered water is useful, particularly in hard-water areas.
Humidity
Anthurium Pinkleyi appreciates humid air. In a dry home, a humidifier or a ventilated growing cabinet can help provide more consistent conditions.
Keep the plant away from radiators and heating vents. Maintain gentle airflow, particularly where several plants are grouped closely together. Dry air can contribute to curled leaves and brown edges.
Temperature
Maintain temperatures around 18–29°C, with protection from cold draughts and sudden changes. Avoid positioning the plant against cold window glass or beside frequently opened external doors.
A reliably warm room is preferable to a location that becomes markedly colder overnight.
Potting mix
Use a loose, airy aroid mix that retains some moisture while allowing excess water to escape. Peat-free houseplant compost combined with orchid bark and perlite is a practical option.
Choose a container with drainage holes. Avoid dense, compacted compost, which can stay wet and limit oxygen around the roots.
Feeding
Feed during active spring and summer growth with a suitable liquid fertiliser, following the manufacturer’s dilution and frequency instructions. An orchid fertiliser is one option recommended for Anthuriums.
Reduce feeding when growth slows. Avoid adding extra fertiliser to compensate for poor light or unhealthy roots.
Repotting
Repot when the roots have filled the existing container, preferably in spring. Choose a pot only one size larger and refresh the growing medium.
Keep the stem base at a similar level rather than burying it deeply. Excessively large pots can hold more moisture than the roots can use, increasing the risk of rot.
Routine maintenance
Gently wipe the leaves with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust. Remove fully dead leaves using clean scissors, taking care around developing growth.
Inspect leaf undersides and stem joints for spider mites, thrips, mealybugs and scale. Isolate affected plants promptly.
Common problems
Yellowing or wilting leaves: Check root-zone moisture before watering; both drought and root rot can produce similar symptoms.
Brown tips or edges: Review humidity and watering consistency.
Bleached patches: Protect the foliage from strong direct sunlight.
Slow growth: Check light, temperature and root health before increasing feeding.
Propagation
Established Anthuriums can be propagated by separating rooted offsets, where present, or taking suitable stem cuttings. Each division needs healthy roots and a growing point; stem cuttings must include a viable node.
Keep new plants warm and humid in an airy, lightly moist medium while they establish.
Winter care
Reduce watering and feeding as growth slows during darker months, while maintaining warmth and suitable light. Continue checking the compost regularly, as it will usually dry more slowly than in summer.
Pet and child safety
Anthuriums are harmful if chewed or swallowed. Keep Anthurium Pinkleyi away from children and pets, and wear gloves when pruning or dividing, as the sap can irritate skin and eyes.
