Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Pteris cretica ‘Green’, commonly known as the Cretan Brake Fern, is a graceful evergreen fern native to Europe, Africa, and Asia. This classic variety is admired for its refined appearance and adaptability, making it one of the most widely grown indoor ferns.
The plant forms elegant clumps of upright to arching fronds that can reach 30–60 cm in length. Each frond is finely divided into narrow, pointed leaflets, giving it a soft and airy texture. Unlike the variegated cultivars, ‘Green’ is uniform in colour, with fronds in a rich, glossy green that bring a calming natural look to interiors. Its compact and tidy habit makes it an excellent choice for tabletops, conservatories, and shaded corners where a touch of freshness is needed.
Because of its resilience and steady growth, Pteris Green is equally suited for beginners and experienced plant keepers. It is also an excellent addition to terrariums or mixed displays where its fine texture provides contrast against broader-leaved plants.
Prefers bright, indirect light or partial shade. It can tolerate lower light, but avoid deep shade which slows growth. Direct sun may scorch the fronds, so filtered light is best.
Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Water when the surface feels just slightly dry, using room-temperature water. Regularity is important – ferns dislike cycles of drying out and overwatering.
Temperature: Thrives in 16–24°C. Protect from draughts and prolonged exposure below 10°C.
Humidity: Requires moderate to high humidity. Mist fronds regularly, stand the pot on a pebble tray, or keep in a terrarium for best results.
Plant in a peat-free, moisture-retentive but free-draining compost, such as a mix designed for ferns. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the soil and provide space for new growth.
Feed once a month during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. Avoid overfeeding, which can damage the delicate roots.
Remove old or yellowing fronds at the base to encourage fresh growth. Wipe fronds gently with a damp cloth if dust accumulates.
Typically grows to 30–45 cm tall indoors, occasionally up to 60 cm in ideal conditions. It forms a tidy, arching clump that retains its decorative foliage year-round.
Brown tips: Usually caused by low humidity or irregular watering.
Yellowing fronds: Often due to overwatering or poor drainage.
Pests: Occasionally attracts scale or aphids; inspect regularly.
Pteris cretica has been a popular cultivated fern since the Victorian era, valued for its elegant form and tolerance of indoor conditions. The all-green form, ‘Green’, offers a simple yet timeless look, perfect for creating a serene, leafy atmosphere. Like many ferns, it also contributes to better indoor air quality by naturally filtering the air.
