Anemone
Anemone is a genus of herbaceous perennials that are native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. They are members of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae) and are commonly grown as ornamental plants for their brightly colored flowers that bloom in spring and fall. Anemones are popular in cottage gardens, rock gardens, and as cut flowers.
Anemones have a clump-forming growth habit and produce deeply lobed, toothed leaves that are arranged in an alternate pattern along the stem. The leaves are typically a medium green color, and are sometimes tinged with purple. In the spring and fall, Anemones produce clusters of showy, cup-shaped flowers that are held above the foliage on slender stems. The flowers are available in a wide range of colors, including white, pink, red, and purple.
