Fragaria

Fragaria is a genus of flowering plants that belongs to the family Rosaceae. They are commonly known as "strawberries" and are cultivated for their sweet, juicy fruit. Fragaria plants are native to temperate regions of the world, and are now grown in many other parts of the world as a commercial crop and for home gardens.

Fragaria plants have low-growing stems that produce runners, or stolons, that can spread out and produce new plants. The flowers of Fragaria plants are typically white or pink, and give way to small, red, heart-shaped fruits that are sweet and juicy. The foliage of Fragaria plants is often green and trifoliate, and can be quite large.
