Crocosmia
Crocosmia is a genus of flowering plants in the iris family, Iridaceae. The plants are native to grasslands and montane slopes in Africa, ranging from South Africa to Zimbabwe. They are commonly known as montbretia or coppertips.
Crocosmia plants are herbaceous perennials that grow from corms and produce long, narrow leaves that are sometimes tinged with red or bronze. In mid to late summer, they produce tall spikes of showy, trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of orange, red, and yellow. The flowers are arranged in dense clusters and attract hummingbirds and butterflies.
